Well a quick update, I finally got around to installing everything ,but I do not have a real comment about the performance since I can not push the brakes till after the rotor break in.

Just get drilled & slotted brembos & call it a day. I have them on mine & I love it.
Blank rotors offer better braking. The only time drilled/slotted rotors will benefit rather than hurt you, is if you’re going with oversized units.
Think about it… if you’re using a stock rotor, then take away surface area (drill holes or slots) then you are going to require more use of the pads themselves (pushing the brake pedal harder) to achieve the same stopping-force you would if you had a blank rotor.
But if you oversize the rotor, then slot/drill the rotor… you can still slow the car with the same pedal pressure as with a stock size rotor (which will make your pads last longer), but then you also get the added benefits of the slots/holes actually cooling the rotor faster and expelling gas/debris/heat faster vs blank faces. However an oversized-blank would offer the best initial grip of them all.
Now, the Brembo blanks are believed to be made with a softer metal than those of other companies… so the initial grab of the brakes is awesome, but the rotor itself doesn’t last as long as one made from harder metal. Some people like to run less-expensive (and also harder) NAPA Gold rotors with a good set of pads (Axxis make great pads for the price). This setup that lasts longer than the Brembo blank sroute, but initial bite will be a bit less with the NAPAs.
All that being said, I’ve had both on my car and I lean towards the Brembo blanks as being my favorite.
Don’t run drilled slotted unless upgrading to a bigger rotor size. End.
Brembos don’t make drilled and slotted rotors. It’s either Slotted or Drilled only, not both. Some company drilled that on the regular Brembo Blanks. I would definitely NOT recommend this.
What are you talking about I have them on my car right now. I bought my rotors directly from 88Rotors & as for using drilled & slotted rotors they are the best. I have ever had slotted rotors suck & so does drilled rotors. I don’t use my car as a daily & for the time I do drive it I drive it hard not just in traffic or on a cruise. I’m one of the few people that actually build a car not to look pretty with tucked wheels & that other BS I actually race the car everytime I bring it out besides that she sleeps. So I guess a brake setup will be a mix of personal preference but for me it’s all about pure function. A bigger brake kit would be nice but it’s pointless for a NA car unless your just showing off your car.
I finally broke in the rotors and pads ,and it is a significant difference between stock and the current setup. When the pads/rotors are cold, they don’t stop as well under normal braking ,but it is a very minimal difference. When the pads are at operating temperature, the pads/rotors stop very well. Also, even after a long period of hard braking, no issues with the rotors or pads losing braking strength. No noise and very little brake dust(contrary to what I have heard from other reviews). I think people just have to break in the components correctly. Best money I have spent thus far.
88Rotors redrills and slots the Brembo Blanks. Brembo does not have slotted and drilled rotors together. Real Brembo slotted or drilled are also zinc coated.
I had the Brembo slotted rotors
Real Brembo slotted rotors
Real Brembo drilled rotors
^ man speaks the truth.
Running the re-drilled units is a good way to heighten the chance of having a rotor crack/explode on you.
Matty is well versed in the brakes department, I would take any advice that he offers!!
I have had these rotors for 2 years now no cracks at all

I know what brembos look like as I said I have had them for years & even if they do drill their rotors they perform better than when I have used slotted or just drilled without any side effects.

And you even mentioned that you don’t drive much at all, and when you do its on a cruise or in traffic… I’m not trying to start an arguement, simply saying… MattyG2 is correct, and re-drills are dangerous. Its been proven that more often than not re-drills that see heavy driving or track use develop heat/stress cracks in the areas that have been slotted or drilled.
That’s cool if yours are still going strong, I wouldn’t wish a broken rotor on anyone… But I find it wise to post and warn people about what they’re potentially buying and that there are way better alternatives out there.
Bravo, well said!
