OPINIONS on TRADE 90 LS for 91-92 Nissan NSX?

id keep the da, buy a new water pump and timing belt.

both of my g2’s have had the belt snap, nothing was ever damaged. replaced the sh!t and we were golden.

as for the pulsar… not a bad car, kinda goofy lookin. the sr-equipped ones are zippy for a little car.

dude fix that thing

i vote FIX THE TEG!!!

i agree wth fixing it

It wasn’t just the timing though, water leaking causing Mildew problems ::puke:: header was cracking causing exhaust leak, needed new breaks, leaking oil (adding a quart every 1-2 wks) O2 sensor needed replaced I’m sure theres a few more,

I know they aren’t major but I love the Car it was fun But it had to go I sold her tonight for $650 Cash, I will miss her for sure but just means time for a new one!!!

I DIDN’T BUY THE NISSAN NX1600 IT WAS A POS!

if this is your car id seriously think about getting a new timing belt and water pump and slap it on, doesnt look to bad and if he had just jumped the timing maybe cause a loose tensioner id look into getting a new one and replacing it and retiming it.[/QUOTE]

Yup that was mine I deleted the ad since it sold before I realized a link to the ad was posted. I called it the Grrrr =)

Aaaahh! You sold it!? Booo

:frowning:

If it’s an NX1600 it’s not worth it. That thing is basicaly a base model B13 sentra, now if it was an NX2000 it woul be a diffrent story that came with an SR20 and the car is very similar to an SE-R sentra.

I guess I got here way too late…but I’m gonna give my opinion anyway. I’ve always been pretty fond of the NX. NX2000 is the way to go over the 1600, but finding an engine harness and SR20 wouldn’t be too difficult to swap in. Also, a GTI-R swap would only cost you about $1700 and that’s pushing out well over 200hp from the factory w/ no mods. Good bang for your buck IMO. I’m still a die hard DA fan, but I’ve had some fun in the SR20 world.

To the OP: Now that you’ve sold the DA shell, you could probably pick up another one for like $1200+ in decent condition.

GTI-R parts are hard to come by as they are an SR20 but many things change on them.

Really??? Last time I checked the local “JDM” supplier, they had a couple longblocks available. VVL is also a pretty fun swap for that chassis if you want to stay NA. It’s Nissan’s version of VTEC for those who are unfamiliar. I think that longblock only costs about $700 in this area. Unfortunately, that’s close to what we pay for LS blocks, but the VVL is comparable in power to a GSR.

I only owned a B14 for a few months and had swapped in an Avenir SR20. It was a fairly fun car, but the NX always appealed to me. Once again, I’m still a DA fan the most. Especially since I’m on my 3rd one now.

Is you’re local JDM supplier going to sell you the water pump, or any broken item that you might need for your GTI-R engine of the complete long block he’s trying to sell?

My cousin put an MX-5 motor in one of these. It hauled ass AND sounded great

thats an NX.

The NX 1600 are decent little cars gutless though…My ex had one for a while. Got it to over 500,000 kms. all things considered it was ok. But keep the teg you WILL be disappointed. The SR20 ou guys seem to be thinking of is the SR20DET which is a different motor similar but dif. My friend had an NX2000 torbo’ed running almost 300Hp was. The SR20 is similar but not quite as good as the SR20DET.
