And another thing if i press the gas when its heating up the temp goes back down
sounds like a familiar problem. you changed all your cooling items so i would imagine the issue isnt there. what are you using in your cooling system? water? 50/50? what does your coolant look like? what color is it? im thinking maybe headgasket but you would have quite a few other problems if it were…
I had this exact thing happen to me, and it turned out to be the head gasket. My mechanic checked out the entire cooling system and found nothing out of the ordinary. The only thing left was the head gasket, and after that was replaced, the problem went away for good.
Well ok then. Check your spark plugs and see if the tips are wet. Does your car smoke at all?
an easy head gasket test is to bleed coolant with cap off nd if u always see little bubbles that keep coming out u deff have a head gasket leak
Spark plugs are good and no smoke at all oil is good in the motor no milk or any I just flused my system today and just ran water threw the hole intire system plus my heater core just make sure everthing check out good nice and clear and I am running 50/50 for colant… I did find out my radiator cap had small leak while I was trying to put presure threw the lines with water but got that fix ounce I take it back out see if that fixed it if not I am going have to change my head gasket then,
are your fans turning on
It was the same with me too. Everything looked perfect: coolant was clean, no bubbles, fans turned on, thermostat was good… The first thing we actually did was replace the radiator cap. Hopefully that does the trick for you.
alright so finly did evrthing to the motor it came down to the head gasket it was leaking’ got that fixed now doesnt over heat but no my car burns oil now
keep in mind when a head gasket blows on the intake side the oil won’t turn milky most of the time
[QUOTE=hangloose;2319279]keep in mind when a head gasket blows on the intake side the oil won’t turn milky most of the time[/QUOTE
Thanks ill keep it in mind now if I dont torq my heads studs down correctly will it couse my motor burn oil
Proof reading would be helpful in the future when it comes to deciphering what you’re trying to tell us.
But anyways…make sure all those little fins on your radiator aren’t smashed to hell. I had overheating problems for a while that stumped me, but those fins turned out to be the issue. I didn’t think it was that bad, but it was. Replaced radiator and it was all good.
could also be a blocked radiator core
pressure test the rad cap. make sure it vents at 16psi and holds pressure there. you’d be surprised at how many people are driving around with bad caps as we speak. if that’s good, pressure test the cooling system. if that’s good, you may be looking at a head gasket issue. if you see bubbles at the filler neck of the rad with the engine running, that’s a telltale sign.
you can also try a compression test. if it’s not burning coolant (blowing white smoke), you’ll see the breach as a loss in compression
and yes, please do try and work on the proofreading. it normally makes no nevermind to me, but i was really struggling to understand your first post. just sayin…you’ll get a better response rate with a decent inquiry
