OZ's RIP turbo DA9, Welcome DB2 build

hey Ozzman3k22 looks good on your db2 i was wondering where by in jersey are you. on some sundays we meet up like 5 da’s or more and just chill. you are more then welcome to stop by we also was thinking of doing a roll out of da’s or db to honda day.

@rollinmyda the bolts kept backing out on the avid traction bar. The plate that bolts up to the tow hooks. After months of dealing with this and looking at different traction bars i realized that others have multiple bolt-up points, that include the oem crossmember point and tow hook. To stop this i decided to just weld what was backing out, and there was a huge improvement, however then the joints on the tension rods started “clanking”. So far when i go boost again on my db2 i want to stick with the oem bar, but we will see what happens

@acura_madness im in the elizabeth area, what town do you all meet at? are you talking about the pathmark meet?

negative we dont go to the pathmark meet we meet by garfield we usually meet up by walmart parking area. since some of these other guys are by north area jersey. if you want you can stop by

That sucks, I hope I have better luck with my bar. I’d be disgusted too!

Yea man good luck with your bar. @acura_madness this weekend isnt good for me cuz my car is not ready, if anything ill be ready next week

thats fine dude nop problem looking forward to seeing your db2 i also have a db2 just let me know that way we can bring extra food or drinks lol

If I have my car ready by next friday night I will be at the meet in linden. Youve prolly been to it cuz the biggest local meet around north jersey

dude let me know if you want to sell your db2 spolier cause my studs was old rusted and snap. What time you planning to go on honda day cause we might have a roll out with some DA’s.

I think We are going to leave around 2am from the Elizabeth area. The paint is still fresh and its been raining and muggy so its garaged while I do some things to it. The lip install is being a pain. The oem wing has broken studs too so its no good

Anyone in the north jersey area that wants to roll out to honda day tomorrow pm me. We are going to head out at 2am

2am? Dude its in old bridge NJ at 8am not portland maine.

I would have been there for 10am today but a tree decided to fall and hit my house last night. No damage to the house but the tree guy wasn’t done until around 12. I left my house at 1230 (right around exit 50 on 78) and it took me an hour to get from exit 142 on the GSP to the bottom of the driscol bridge (tolls and exit 123 on the GSP for route 9 south). It took me another 25 minutes on route 9 to get to the track. I’ve been going to raceway park since 1998 and its never taken this long. Typically 40 minutes at 65-80mph. I saw alot of DA’s today.

Yea but the later u get there the further back in line u get and the worse the parking. What time are you leaving?

I’m not. I went today and that was more than enough for me. Got there around 2:00pm (gates opened at 10am) and parked in the middle of the lot with ample parking ahead of and behind me (people were pouring out of the track exit down Texas and Englishtown roads to the point that I thought the event might be canceled). Walked around the car show. Walked around the pits. Watched a few drag races. Listened to the track announcers flip a shit and threaten to revoke racers wristbands because people either couldn’t figure out what class they were in or weren’t in their cars in the staging lanes at the time their classes were being called (the one announcer stated that this has been happening at alot of import events. Its pretty fucking simple they announce your class and you pull into the staging lanes and wait, not park you car and walk around concessions or vendors row). Pretty much the same as its always been only now every civic hatchback has a K-series swap and runs 9s. I couldn’t name 5 pro racers and most of the guys I grew up watching are retired or doing other things. Left at around 430pm

If I were going to be going and gates open at 8. I’d leave my house in short hills at around 7:30am-7:45am. Stop for a bagel and a pepsi at Bagels-4-U on Morris Ave in Springfield, then expect to be at the track by around 8:30am. Get to the track, park, put on my spf 50 sunscreen, adjust my camera and walk around most likely leaving the venue by around 12pm at the latest.

Honda day was awesome I will def be going early again next year to hang out with the crowd, and to get a good spot in the show. Here is a pic of me doing the side markers and the final product a day before honda day. I am pleased with how the car came out, now that honda day is over its time to remove and wash the carpet and start thinking whether or not to boost it.

Looking at the car now im glad i put the oem kit and the wing on, at the beginning of the build i asked you guys aftermarket wing? oem kit? and some said to just restore it and leave it oem because its a db2. Now that the exterior is mostly finished what do you guys think?

I would say drop…no slam it, but seeing that your from up north, I’m pretty sure the roads are shitty with pot holes waiting for you at every corner. Good luck with that DB2, Enjoy!

Thanks and you are right jersey roads suck…some people drive really low around here, but they run ridiculous amount of camber and stretch tires to where it isnt safe. The drop I have now I can drive without hurtjng the lip, oilpan, and exhaust so im happy with it

I have finally decided to not boost the teggy until after march. The reason for this is because thats when im due to smog the car again, and since I passed already with this set up im not going to touch it. In other news i ran the car as is at the track and ran a 16.7 . Horrible time and i thought about doing a swap the next day (the b17 is def hurt and will need a rebuild when its out so i will take it easy on it till i yank it out), but instead i will concentrate on bushings, fuel pump, inner/outer tie rods and ball joints. They seem alil worn, so i will be doing that and i plan on putting ARPs on the b18c1 so when i go for a retune i can go for more power

Does anyone know the part number for the es bushings that go where the fork rests on the front lca?
