OZ's RIP turbo DA9, Welcome DB2 build

My coolant temp has been getting about 220-227 way too hot, so I’m finally going to stop messing around and do an oil cooler, delete the abs, and finally run a shroud. Updates coming soon, here are some pics I took. Also would be great to know how much lower has your coolant temp dropped after adding an oil cooler

Here’s the oil cooler kit I got, it’s a flex a lite

might be just me but I would go with one of those Grex/Trust style kits with thermostat, AN fittings and braided lines (thats what i did do…)
temps were maxing at about 220 with full dual core radiator and 8psi turbo under heavy load uphill on a warm day.

now I dont see it get over about 205 and thats mounted to the side of the radiator area down under where the bumper mounts to the frame

I agree. I would do an AN line kit for piece of mind. It’s just less stuff to break or leak. I also wrestled with cooling issues for a while too. For reference, my temps would max out around 215 (I hit 225 once on a track day) or so on the highway and run right around 197-205 while cruising. I added some shrouding on the sides of the radiator, heat wrap and an oil cooler. The oil cooler was a game changer. I can drive it hard on the highway and I won’t really see temps go past 190. While cruising it sits at 185 all day long. The real test will be on the track and I’m curious to find out how the temps are. I choose not to install a thermostat because I don’t drive the car in the winter months.

Thanks for the feedback, I hope this brings down my temp. Prior to buying the oil cooler, i did a cooling system test, and it holds all the pressure with no leak. The problem seems to be the small rad. This kit does come with the thermostat, and if it works i may upgrade to a different type with all the AN lines and fittings later this year. I didnt go all out on the cooler because i plan on buying the HUSH22 hydro kit at Honda Day.

There used to be a great write up here, on how to do a wire tuck. After the new site came back on, I can’t find it. Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I have the intake manifold off because I’m doing an abs delete, so now would be a great time to do a wire tuck.

Nvm found it
