ok i was driving my car home from work last night, driving easy like always when i turned a corner i heard a wierd sound, sounded like rubber, going hard against metal it wasnt anything ive heard a car do, it just came from no were and then i noticed the next few turns my steering had alil more resistance to it.i figured its late i dont care im going to bed deal with it tomorrow, so today i took it out the sound had stopped but the resistance was alittle more. i jacked my car up looked at all the ball joints check tierods and CV’s everything is ok, but then i noticed a small VERY small drip of p/s fluid, so i checked the p/s fluid tank and it has hundreds of small bubbles, which means i probaly have air in the lines but would it make a wierd resistance and an even wierder sound? or is the sound and resistance something else, plz help need the teg for tomorrow
could the p/s pump be bad?
i got one for sale if it is
the noise ur talking about sounds consistent with a power steering leak.throw some PS fluid in it and turn the wheel all the way in both directions a couple times. if the noise goes away that means u have a power steering leak.
now b4 u act like a idiot an go buy a new pump for no reason check out ur PS lines and look for leaks. if there are no leaks that u can see replace the pump. dont throw ur money away on a new pump if its not needed. also, they dont make PS pumps for G2s anymore so ud have to go with a used one.
better question… what fluid are you putting into your p/s system?
ok i have a leak rack and pinion im leaking p/s fluid im thinking about removing p/s anyway because im getting ready to do a custom turbo build
