Pace Setter Exhaust System

Does anybody have this system on thier 2nd Gen integra??? Does it have a wicked sound??? Anybody know if it’s a good cat-back system???
thanks

there junk, their hardly louder than stock and only get a little louder @WOT. Otherwise they are junk! they rust out in no time and are poor quality. If your straped for cash just custom make an axel back, then when you have more money make the mid pipe ect. Quality will out last a “good deal”

“wicked” NO

NOISY YES…

how much were you gonna spend on it anyways? usd btw hehe

From a performace shop, it’s in the 350-400 price range.

I’ve had mine for about a year in ohio(no rust yet). Completely quiet at idle. Loud like a motorcycle at the redline Resonably quiet at 60mph on the freeway in 5th. Sounds like s*&t (hollow and buzzy)until you tighten the flange and the u clamps the third time even using an impact wrench (trying not to crush the pipe). Can definitely tell an increase in power 5th gear 60 -90mph since I don’t have to downshift to pass.

Pro’s
Price. if you bang it or drag it, at least it didn’t cost $600+ shipping.

Noticable power increase

2.25 mandrel bent pipes.

Nice fit.

could buy it take it to a muffler shop and have it duplicated in
2.25 stainless and have a really good sysytem cheap(then you could sell it to someone else).

Sounds OK kind of like a CBR1100

Cons
You have to tighten the u clamps about 3 times (tighten drive, tighten drive…) before the hollow sound goes away.
new rubber mounts give it a deeper tone.

The pacesetter U clamps are s*$t and strip before they get tight enough to deaden the vibrations. Get better ones at the auto parts store for $10.

The paint comes off fast but the aluminized coating is supposed to be under the paint.

Sometimes the resonator sounds like garbage. It seems to depend on the weather.

Since when do the mounts affect the sound. The tone produced by name-brand exhausts comes from the quality of the composite cubes in the muffler chamber.

Ten year old mounts are pretty soft. The new ones deadened the high pitched and very audible vibration(ringing noise from the pipe itself) allowing you to hear the actual exaust tone. Also sounds better without the resonator.

True, the high dollar systems are tuned to make a “better” sound like a subwoofer box is tuned to boost a certain frequency. They look good, but they don’t necessarily make more power.

I’ve never used a pacestter on my G2 but I had one on my Protege. Didn’t really like to much buzzing. But $350-$400. why. I have seen them for less than $200 for the whole catback. check summit racing and Jc Whitney. If you are going to pay $350 to $400 there are other options that will work much better

Since he is from Canada, I would assume he means 350-400 Canadian Dollars which is like what? 75 USD?

I hate Pacesetter, they can’t make $hit.

I had bought their 4-1 header for my old Celica, and the bolt holes wouldn’t even line up right. It rusted like a mofo only after short use. They outright suck!

300 candian dollars is like 196 US dollars so that price is like I stated around $200 bucks. still not worth it

I’ve had that exhaust for about 9 months now. Personally, I think it sounds basically like stock. It’s a decent system if you really don’t have money and need an exhaust (like I did), but their quality is not the greatest.

My first muffler rattled like a beotch from loose baffles or something, so I would say their quality control is probably not the best. Otherwise, overall I am satisfied with it, you really can’t beat the price and the pro-rated 3 year warranty gives me somewhat of peace of mind.

NOTE: The exhaust tip included with this system is NOT resonated like the ones you can get at an auto parts store (at least mine wasn’t).

Someone should move this to the “product reviews” section.

anything pacesetter is junk…stick with known name aftermarket companies such as DC Greddy, etc…
