So I was removing the pinstripe from my (white) 93 Integra when I realized that the paint had slightly turned a yellowish!!! I was using rubbing alcohol and a yellow microfiber rag. So I tried using some rubbing compound to remove this transfer of yellow from the paint, but nothing i tried seemed to work???
Would a good clay bar work??
Or something else??? any help would be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks, Chris
Depends on how bad it is I guess you can also color match and repaint where it got messed up
try using a 3m rubber wheel next time you remove pinstripes hah
Thanks I might try to clay bar the car tomorrow!!! I guess thats what happen when you try to do things the cheap way!!:bawl:
Any other ideas??
Sand it out. Start with 800 and work your way up. Oh and wet-sand not dry. Just be careful not to go allthe way through the clear coat. Once you hit 1200 (I think) then use the buffing compound.
Thanks guys I tried the Clay bar and it removed most of the yellow then followed that with a good rubbing and polishing compound!!! It removed it almost completely!!! Thanks, Chris
ya try to start at least at 1ooo grit. and buff the rest out. 2nd the rubber wheel too. very nice tool
