i posted a bunch more pics in general discussion under “my 92 gs”. I think it was around $150 for all the paint/sandpaper.
i have cleared it. the clear coat was the part i was least impressed with. thanks for the tip, though. i’ll definately try it out.
Hey man i’d love to talk to you about how u painted it. I love the look, and considering it was with shaker cans is amazing. I have a few questions if u could post up ur email or mine is bobby62586@yahoo.com. i just have a few questions like what kinda brand of paint did u use, what kinda clear coat, how exactly did u prep it, and did u just start spraying the whole car or did u take it apart and spray each peice seperate. I would really appreciate it man. thanx
it was 2 layers clear coat, 1st was light, 2nd was heavier. I definately could have done more coats on the clear, but i had to get it out of the garage. i might go back and do another coat or two another time. i never use the trunk keyhole… it’ll probably stay coated. ha. email is IntegraPunk916@aol.com I’ll email you tomorrow while i’m at work and give you a good description of everything Carnage.
I don’t know how durable it is yet. It’s only been out twice since i’ve painted it. we’ll see what happens i guess. It’ll probably last longer on my car cuz i don’t drive it that often. pretty much a weekend/wanna relieve some stress from the daily grind kinda car. i did sand down the factory paint first. it was in black primer for like 9 months before i ever decided to paint it. it looked pretty ghetto- front/rear bumpers and roof were still factory black. Thanks for the compliments everyone. keep the opinions coming!
pretty sweet almost looks flat black…thats damn hardcore! i wanted to paint my front bumper by rattle cans (my DA is frost white) cause it looks like ass…all the paint is peeling off of it, the damn shit bag who painted it didnt even sand the bumper…i thought it would be a hard job but i guess with time, patience, and super thin coats, and lots of clear coat i can make it look nice…i also wanted to integrate my OEM lip on the bumper with fiber glass and i cut out the grill in the bumper hole and put in a nicer mesh grill…gonna try make it look skirt kit style…good idea or bad idea?
that sounds like a good idea to me,cuz that’s exactly what i wanna do to mine.but how do you cut out the bumper cover?i would think you’d just use a reciprocating saw.but how would you fasten the mest to the cover?
