painting in winter

I’m about to paint a couple cars with a compressor and spray gun with automotive paint, my question is, myth or fact… you can’t paint when it’s cold, I need some solid answers to that and what temperatures will work and such…

temperatures is very important read the side of your paint can.

get some space heaters in your garage

u can paint your car in the cold, but the hotter it is, the better.

When ur gonna paint ur car in the cold, theres gonna be longer flash times between coats of base and clear.

When its cold u increase the risk of runs aswell.

Depending on Paint Brands some u cant even spray in the cold, some u can. What kind of Paint are u using? i can tell u now if u use RM or BASF paint it wont work, i use this stuff at work and it works great in the heat, but works like shit during the cold. If i was u id use Dupont/Nason, i used this stuff in the cold, and turned out great.

Make sure u use Low Temp reducers and Fast/Rapid Hardeners and Activators so the paint can be better applied.

any person at a local automotive paint supply place should be able to point you in the right direction.

never painted a car… but ive painted parts in the cold… i made the the mix a little ritcher, dont remember wat it was thou
