They can definitely be painted, no different than painting any other similar part (things made from similar rubber/plastic type materials). You will want to use what is called an “adhesion promoter”
If you’re doing this at home by yourself and don’t have professional paint equipment this site may be a good source for paint and other misc materials: http://www.paintscratch.com/ (they also talk about and sell adhesion promoter)
Thanks alot ill let the guys know. Its being done in a shop. Im in the auto and the cars over in the body. Down to Moldings, bumpers and mirrors. Just finshed the shell today. My early christmas Present. Here is a few shots of the resto its been on going project since march and in the body shop since July 5th. Aming to have all the paint complete for New years hopefuly. Then the fun task of putting it all back together…
Since July?! Why’s it taking so long? Josh of Extreme Powdercoaters has a paint/body shop, & he told me it’d be done in a week. Full re-spray & dent removal, plus shaving the antenna. This isn’t a B/S orange peel job either. Color sanding & the whole nine.

Corniest quote ever: “Get yours today! JDM is IN!”
They are doing this job for me as a side project to cut cost. They are normaly really busy with insurance claims all summer is the normal crash and dent I hit a deer people. Now its winter and you get the I cant drive in snow so I crash people. Its nuts how many cars are in the shop that get priority over mine so they put a few hours in a week. If I want to see it its like 20 second walk to the body shop. The shots only show some of the work the only place all the paint wasnt removed befor prime and paint was the engine bay and the interior would have like to but it didnt make enough of a difference to me. As long as the out side is flawless and there is no rust or dents thats all that really matters to me. Id rather dump the money into the engine.
