painting my DB1 next month.....what ya think

well im planing on painting my DB1 this month and i wanted to see whats best for me or what color would look alot better but it has to be red. the one i have its like a dark kind of red, dont know the code. how much u guys think im going to spend for painting it?..and also stay with the same color rims or paint them…(what color for the wheels look good on red).
HERE A PICTURE OF THE CAR RIGHT NOW…

It’s kind of hard to say how much it’s gonna cost to get repainted. Do you need bodywork, are you preping it yourself, are you getting the jambs and under hood done? You are leaving out alot of details.

well my car has small dents like wen they hit u with the door thats about it…
and yea thats why i was planning on leaving it the same color cause i dont want to deal under the hood and all thats u know…

what hood is that and how much did it cost

thats the VIS Invader CF hood…

I would say at least $1600 for a nice paintjob

…thank for ur input brother…

yep 1600 or so… depending on prep work involved…

If you prep it yourself it would cut the cost down some. Another thing that could save you some labor is getting dent wizzard to pop all of the dings out before sending it to the shop.

thats would be koo cause i only have like 5 small dents…where is that located at?..
how much u think they ill charge me?

lol fuckkkk that- i prepped my shit myself and got it sprayed at maacco by my house 600dollar paint job and its still looking good…
mind u its garage kept…

almost 2 1/2 years after my paintjob.

he’s painting it red, not white. So it will show alot more.

A friend did the cheap maaco paint in the honey beige color… a year later it’s peeling in areas and fading. they prepped it.

^^^^I love it. One of the cleanest on this site.

Edit- wow. I guess I was wrong. Looks good to me…

kk heres my e30 done- same deal-

right out of the paintshop over 2 years ago:

about 5months ago:

maaco is by far from perfect but isnt that bad for the money- especially if u prep it and remove all the shit u can take off to prevent over spray…

this particular one does good work i guess…ive seen some maaco jobs that are horrible- i saw some sample work prior to me gettin it done there- and im pretty happy with the outcome…people really dont believe me when i tell them that i got it done there.

As long as it’s preped good you can get a nice job from macco unless they run the paint or clear.

well what u try to mean by ‘‘unless they run the paint or clear’’…

If the paint or clearcoat is sprayed to thick it will run

other step i wanna take is paint my wheels…should i paint them GOLD, or WHITE, or stay the same…

i need better pics but from what it looks like id leave it…
once the cars painted all one color it will look good.
