What the hell are parking lights? And what are the side markers?
I have USDM lights. The front turn signal has the housing that is half yellow and half clear. Is the yellow part the sidemarker and the clear part the parking light? What do they mean by ‘parking light?’ Also, I tried taking out my sidemarkers to make the yellow part red to match the bumper lights i made red (GREAT article by the way, they look SO oem), and i could NOT get them out. I popped the hood and unscrewed the one screw that holds them in, but they won’t budge and I don’t want them to break. Which way do you pull them? Thanks!
Sidemarkers are the blinkers mounted on the fender on the JDM cars. Parking lights come on when you turn the switch one click, and just the outside edges of you headlights come on. To take out the parking light/blinkers, just remove the screw, and pop them out. They will swivel outward, but you might have to use a little force.
ok so i don’t have sidemarkers. those are the little turn signals on jdm cars? which way do my blinkers pop out? from the back to the front? as in apply force from the end of the light closest to the rear? I swear i heard things cracking and they sounded like they were going to break. If it makes any difference, that little rubber gasket that goes between the bumber and lights is a little screwed up and folded/bent in under the turn signal. Maybe that is somehow holding it in.

there is little notches on the corner lights that plug into some plastic things in the car. what u need to do is press slightly on the corner light and pull out towards the front of the car
they will make a popping sound when they come out so dont be afraid of that. its pretty hard to break anything here unless u kick the corner or something. just make sure that little peice at the top that screws in is out of the way when ur pulling

ok since no one has answered the question correctly…our cars do have sidemarkers, they are just not placed seperately and on the fender like jdm cars.
the part that you are referring to as the “front turn signal” is actually the parking light(s). when you flip the parking light/headlight switch to the first click, it turns on the parking lights, which are the half amber/clear ones next to the headlight.
the sidemarker on US cars are referred to the amber part in the corner light. hence having a reflector like how sidemarkers mounted on jdm fenders are reflectors as well. the clear part of the parking light is the corner light.
the front turn signals are actually the ones located in your bumper.
