Hey guys im really confused… So my front passenger side window switch works fine, but when I try to roll down the front passenger window from the driver side window switches I can only roll down the window and not back up… Any ideas?
i need to know what year and if its 2 door or 4.
Sounds like a bad switch to me. I work at a location where we transport cars and the switches going bad are a common occurrence. Sometimes it isn’t an electrical issue within the switch and I’ve been able to repair them in order to get them from point A to point B. I would try picking up a switch at a junkyard. I’m jumping ahead of myself because I’m responding from my phone. I would first pull the switch from the door panel and see if you’re getting power when you hit the up & down function. I wouldn’t be able to tell you which wires to check because I have an RS with no power options.
As mentioned, it is most likely the drivers side switch, [main switch]. 94
its a 91 4door. I forgot that both switches for the pass windows dont roll the window back up. So what are the chances of two switches being able the roll down the window but not back up…
That is kind of strange, down but not up, you are going to have to pull the door panel and access the power window motor plug, unplug it and test the two leads, both should test as grounds, [full continuity to chassis ground, let me know what you find. 94
ya i know i dont get it. its been like this ever since i have had the car. but i will let you know when i find the problem.
I’ve seen this happen when the switch contacts get dirty. I did a write up on how to clean them in the static Teg Tips section.
This happened to me and it was the wiring coming into the drivers door. Double check your connections.
