PCV location and install process *pics*

Purchase a PCV valve(reenactment. Do not use expired Fabutan money) :

Locate yor car:

Follow this hose down to an intake manifold runner to find the PCV valve. Pull out the PCV valve.

The object on the end of the hose is the PCV valve:

“hmmmm, I don’t here too much ratteling in this PCV valve.” :

“hey, now that’s what I like to hear!” :

It was not easy to put the new valve in. I really had to hit it to get it in for what I thought was enough. I guess oem parts are better.

“All done.” :

I broke the blue part off the black part just getting the hose on. Ended up buying the OEM part, a little more money, but much more durable.

Thanks for the pics though

 you’re such a nut! This must’ve been the most entertaining Teg Tip I’ve ever read!

haha, thanks. The biggest problem was actually finding where exactly the PCV valve was. I had a friend who worked for honda show me, so hopefully this thread will help people find theirs.

 Good ol’ Crappy Tire money!! I have over $100 worth of those in my glove box…hehehehe

Good work

Oz

thats amazing

i broke the lower hose while installing the intake manifold and had to relocate the entire pcv. it buzzes when under pressure and idling from high speed kinda bogs but oh well.

Ekliptix can i use your write up on my site ? looking to build a how to database. credit will be sent your way

Great description, but I’d like to know how you managed to take the old one out. I couldn’t get mine off and I was afraid of breaking off the stem on the old one.

i used pliers and pinched and pulled the sucker out. it was a bit tight… and yeah it was hard putting the aftermarket one in too… i hope i got it in hard enough.

Just replaced my PCV valve too, really easy process. I wiggled it out with pliers and then just pushed the new one in. I used a FRAM valve and it fit very well and was easy to install, FYI. Got it at Kragen’s. Only $3 versus $17 at the dealer.

Oddly enough, my old valve was stuck in the OPEN position, whereas my repair book seemed to say that they block the vacuum when they fail.

My Purolator PCV valve is only $2.50. Works just fine. They recommend replacing every 10,000 miles though. The Honda one lasts much longer.

I put in one from Kragen’s. It came off easily, just pulled it out hose still attached, then replaced the pcv with the hose and when I put it on it would still have about 2mm left that wouldn’t go in no matter how hard I pushed! Should I just hammer it in?

+1 thank you, worked good.

Sorry to bring this thread back but I cant find where the pcv is located. The pictures dont show up. Where is the pcv located? Thanks

The pictures show up m8, problem is on your end?

Thanks a lot for this post - I did mine last night and it only took 10 min…I was kinda scared, some of you saying how hard it was to get it out…but mine easily came out

it took me almost 2 hours to get it out. it broke while i was pulling on it. and then my needle nose was grabbing some rubber gasket underneath it and egh. i am not looking forward to doing the pcv again…

Just did this for the third time (I keep getting new cars) and I"m so glad I checked it. I’m at 185k and the valve was bad…that’s scary. But each time it’s only taken me like 10 min

man pictures arent working. is there another link for this?

if you already have the valve with you just take a closer look at your manifold, you’ll see it.
