Been looking around for a few weeks into getting a cat-back exhaust system for my newly acquired db1. All i’ve found so far is the thermal r&d and some obx thing the guy at a local speedshop tried to get me to buy. So I ask the family…who makes a performance 4door exhaust?? C’mon all you sedan owners…unite! :naughty:
:search: brotha :search:
you should try searching too…one thread on 4 door exhausts with no mention of anything. mention of ‘trust’ but no details and the internet has no answers…
its people like you who have turned others away from this wonderful site. look at my join date, i didn’t join yesterday…i am aware of the search button, perhaps you should shut your mouth before you make a fool of yourself.
I’ve been looking around as well and I’m 95% sure I’m gonna go with the Greddy SPII Exhaust. They don’t specifically make it for the four door but I’ve heard you can get an extension on it to make it fit. Just bring to your local muffler shop. I like the sideways mount muffler on the G2’s just because I think the style fits the era of our cars… plus the bling on the SPII is quite nice! Good luck!
um… the 2 door and 4 door exhausts are exactly the same length…
you claim you searched but a little more searching would have revealed that
there are about a million threads on exhaust on these forums; you definitely didn’t need to start a new one
yeah they are the same LENGTH, but the 4dr bends in different spots, hence there is a difference between the two. otherwise they would specify 2 and 4 door. There is not ONE single thread on this site that lists any companies that make a 4 door exhaust.
wrong
if that were the case then how come every aftermarket catback exhaust i see for 90-93 say they fit ALL 90-93 integras?
any luck?
I also have been looking for a exhaust for my car but couldnt find anything so i did some looking around, theres mufflers that look stock like ours (you kno how it’s in the middle?) they have ones that replace that but you would need a exhaust tip for that , and another time i asked a guy on cardomain about his and he said he just said “it ran me about 10 buck but i installed it myself i just took a hack saw to the back right wheel and bought some flex pipe from autozone and clamped it on and hung it up lates” i think he was referring to his muffler, and when i asked my uncle how much it would cost for a exhaust system he took a look at my car and said “i dont kno about a full exhaust but i kno you could put a muffler on it” , sorry i couldnt be much help but if you find a exhaust system please tell us where you found it at
ebay is your friend :naughty:
basically, if you have a 90-91 sedan you will need one designed for a 92-93 coupe, or a 90-91 (shorter) with an extension. in either case, the hangers will be off by 2-3 inches. i have a 90-91 greddy sp with the 92-93 extension piece. rubber hangers obviously won’t reach, so i used electrical wire to hold them up, temporarily of course. the bends seem fine over the rear arm and even sway/tie bar.
i think i covered the details and length of everything in another thread…
thermal is the one for 4-door g2’s… I have it and it fits perfect… and works good…
get the DC Sports system for a 92 gsr - it fits 90 and 91 sedans perfectly if you bend the middle mounting hangers a little. I’ve got one on mine and LOVE IT. Its got a great sound that sounds very tuned and non-rice…also it looks kind of old school like G2’s.
i have your answer
the pace setter makes it but i dont recomend it because it sounds like dook
bringing this from the dead for a quick ?
 Ressurect dead post!!!
I have a 91 sedan, do you all think if I got 92-93 header + cat and the 90-91 catback would it fit well?
as you can see, the 92-93 cat is a little more than an inch longer, but the 92-93 header is shorter so you would gain less or even lose length.
for your 90-91 sedan you would want to try a 90-91 header (longer), 92-93 cat (longer), and 92-93 catback (longer).
on my 90-91 sedan i had 90-91 header, 90-91 cat, 92-93 catback (90-91 with 92-93 extension). it extends past the bumper about an inch which was fine, but i planned on adding a 92-93 cat to extend it just a tad since my bumper was collecting soot.
try drawing it on paper, all the (relative) lengths you can gather above.
:hmm: What about the 92-93 sedans though? Is Thermal is the only one that will hang up to the stock location? I’m thinking of getting a Megan racing SS 92-93 header and Thermal R&D classic SS cat-back for my auto DB1. Anyone have this combo and will it fit w/o mods? I wanted to hook this up myself and not have to go the shop. I’d like to have it all Stainless and stock looking, you know.
Not only that but… the 4 door Auto’s have different exhuast than 2 door autos…
FYI
I’m still rocking the GReddy MX I got for my CRX, had it piped to fit at an exhaust shop for like $100. SOunds nice, looks nice.
it will fit fine… my car “was” an auto with the thermal 4 door exhaust and a dc header and it fit with no mods… this is assuming the megan header is the same length as the dc
Well I swapped my exhaust from my very first DA (90 2dr) onto my 4dr NO MODS, now welding… EXACT FIT… I have a 90-91 DC header and I used this again. NOW as far as the lengths and bends they are the same on both 4dr and 2dr according to the year model. Meaning the 90-91 has the same length header b pipe thru muffler length, as does the 92-93 for each perspective body whether it be 4dr or 2dr. Search harder next time this has been covered.
BTW- why in the hell would you pay lots of money for a name brand CAT back exhaust system when a custom mandrell bent with WHATEVER muffler you choose will cost 1/3-1/2 the price… You do the math. My nickles worth of free advice.
