tribb, how do u like the tamron 70-300? i got it with my xti yesterday, havent had much time to mess around with it. also of course have the kit 18-55. looking into the 50mm 1.8
These were taken last fall I believe on a road trip. They’re kinda old. Not much experience here. I DO have some good film ones, but I’ve got a crappy scanner.Bear with me, they were taken with a camera phone. a relatively good camera phone, BUT, camera phone nontheless. last one I’snt mine, but it holds true.
i 2nd that, its first lense i ever bought(besides the kit lense that came with my camera, but i use it more than the kit lense) an ive never regretted it. its helped me a lot on working on my composition. only time ill ever sell it is if i run into a deal for a 1.4 thats too hard to pass up.
I have Nikon’s 50mm f1.8D My best lens by far, and DIRT cheap. D, I have a Tamron 70-300 for my Nikon and its good. I will upgrade to the Nikon VR soon, but good for the price and quality. Only bad things are that focus is loud and slow.
Are we talking about the 50mm f1.8 II EF?
If so then I might just pick one up this month (cause of all the good things you guys are saying).
I have all three of those same lenses you have/thinking about. The kit lens is the worst as to be expected.
The tamron is a nice lens for the cost, great for it’s want to be macro as well so you can start to play with macro photos. Colors seem to come out well, nice and light so easy to carry around. All around I’m happy with it.
Definitely get the 50mm, you wont regret it, especially for ~70 bucks.
I just remembered that I’ve already decided what I was gonna get. After you told me about the Sigma 17-70 I did some looking around and it seems to be the perfect lens for me. So instead of dumping that money on the 50 I’ll just save it and get the Sigma.
