Who’s the Olympus fanboy on here?
Thats right… uh huh huh… thought I didn’t see ya now did ya… uh huh huh:gayfight:
lol and  @ olympus’ marketing.

You guys have some sick stuff hope I’m worthy… I just have a lil point and shoot for now, what’s this “SLR” thing you’re all talking about?
those are some pretty good shots for a P&S, but its the photographer that matters, so good job!
SLR = Single Lens Reflex. Essentially what you see in the viewfinder is what you get a picture of, unlike the offset you find in P&S through its optical viewfinder. Also lets you change lenses quickly for different environments and purposes. There are a lot more differences but basically SLR > P&S in every way other than portability. The Olympus you see above is an SLR.
Now…to get a grey card. Anyone else use a grey card?
Negative. I-35 and Schertz PKWY, close to mi casa.

I usually just meter and white balance off my hand, grey cards always seem to get left at home…
And Olympus would be great if it wasn’t for olympus shooters. “Oh it’s full frame!” No it isn’t “But it is, 4/3rds and the lenses…and…it works together…made for eachother…and…and…” fuck off…
I have this Nikon right now that’s kinda cool… takes good pics I guess… but do you guys think I should get a Canon ? Rebel’s sound cool, and the new XSi sounds JDM…
Spoken like someone with absolutely no idea of what they are talking about:gay:
 but does anyone actually use one? I would think a lot of you guys would since you shoot in color with digital SLRs… for the pictures i posed earlier i had to white balance off a part of the BMW…at least its kinda grey? :hmm: but i think they turned out pretty good.
Codeblack; kill yourself please.
I meter off of anything in the area that’s close to gray. I can usually get it right on. If not I adjust the color in post.
Here’s the first pic with my new camera and lens.
A little harsh, no?
Did you just buy the xt? I remember you said you were gonna buy the 10D. What’s the main difference between the two (different sensors?)? (too lazy to search)
damn way off lol. looks the same.

Yeah, sensor size is different, the XT utilizes E-TTL II external flash and the EF-S lenses and the XT is 8MP.
Do you meter through the lens or use a handheld one?
through the lens
From today
^hey what new camera and lens did you get?
Wooooo… Jay Wirths - Calm down. Sorry we aren’t all canon shooters, rebel shooters none the less.
Fuck, sorry for makin’ a joke. I am seriously considering a 20d to go along with my current gear, but I guess I’m not welcome in this thread full of hardcore pro’s like yourself…
Yeah, probably for the best, I have no idea about all this stuff anyways… SLR’s and XT’s and what have you…
Can someone recommend an entry-level (i.e. inexpensive) camera, that is very quick at taking pictures and processing them? I’m sick of missing shots because the camera I have takes 2 seconds between depressing the “shutter” and actually taking the shot. An SLR would be sweet, along with the ability to take close up shots. (Also, one with an available underwater housing would be ideal)
Neil, a Canon Digital Rebel or Nikon D40 would be a good option. You can find them (depending on the model) for as low as $300. The money comes into play with the lenses, but you can get decent ones, like the Tamron 28-200mm for under $300.
An underwater camera housing is going to cost you a good $2K.
