The D40 kit lens. Not sure of the specifics, I’ll have to look next time my friend lets me borrow the camera.

hey just curious, how do you get that kind of toning effect? is it an HDR pic?

I’ve received a lot of for that one. 
and ez12a, the toning effect was part of, as you said, the hdr conversion.
So I borrowed a friend’s Rebel XTi and took some of my first shots with a digital SLR. She let me borrow her film Canon EOS Rebel G to learn SLR photography the HARD way. I have a bunch of good stuff.
Here is a sample. This was taken with while driving in 35 mph slow traffic on the 10 freeway. This is one of the famous walls. I just focused it beforhand and just fired the shutter. The space is so competitive, you can see how some used giant squirters to try to write above the spray can graffiti:

I dig those, I think on some of them even more motion blur on the passing cars would be nice, it all depends on the cars passing though
