Enola Gay
I know it’s not great but I like the idea/angle. My wife took this and if you knew how much she’s improved since getting the D40 you’d be impressed.
Any comments on what would make this picture better (other than better focus) would be appreciated.
Thinking about picking this up from the B&H Used dept.

That guy is out of his mind asking $1000 for that.
I still like the ‘Calculate Shipping’ button.
I think if I drop $120,000 on a lens that you should be able to have two naked girls hand deliver it and not charge a shipping fee.

36 freakin lbs!?
Those two girls better stick around to “test the lens out” for at least a week at that price…
For a 1200mm they better hang out down the street for me to test out the lens!

give me $120,000k plus NY sales tax , plus airfair , plus money for hookers (for a hand release, I mean hand delivery it to you) and I can make this happen. BH is like 15 miles away from house.
No offense John, but I wouldn’t trust my own mother with $120K of my money. :giggle:

I’m no expert, but his face looks underexposed. A reflector to reflect some sunlight at his face would give his skin a warmer/fuller look. You can use the flash too, but depending on what you’re after, can be a bit harsh.
The experts here can comment if I’m wrong, but that’s my two cents.
oh cmon!I swear I’d spend it on that lens and not scoring 5000 or so hits of “H” from some puerto rican guy in Jersey City.

back to the topic at hand.
Only suggestion I would make is that the face could be lit a little better. It’s not too bad, but I think It could use a touch of fill. Also, and this is a personal preference, I would add a hint more of contrast.
If you miss the shot you can always attempt to correct it after the fact using Light Room or Photo Shop.
Here’s my take. Having never seen your son IRL makes it hard to know if the skin tone is accurate, but hopefully it’s close.
hey James you get my email? I have a lense question for ya. I thought I had your correct email. perhaps not.

blew this one out too much so I used it as a PP science experiment.
I thought these came out well.
