PIAA Windshield Wiper Blades

I’ve dealt with one too many sets of annoying-as-hell squeaky wiper blades and since rain is a fact of life here in the Northwest, I figure I have a pretty good excuse to drop some dollars on a pair of these puppies. To justify the amount of money you’re spending on WIPER BLADES :p, PIAA has packaged it as some kind of all-inclusive rain-repelling system that is beyond the ablilities of mere off-the-shelf wipers. Included with each blade is a special towelette that you pre-treat the windshield with, let sit for 10 minutes and wipe off with a clean towel. You then perform a 5-minute dry run of the wipers so that the blades themselves can create an even coat on the glass surface. (Subsequently, it is recommended that you periodically run the wipers on your dry, clean windshield as an upkeep procedure. Blades are supposed to last for one year–we’ll see.) The day that I installed them was a great day to test them out–mucho precipitation.

Well, I can say with utmost confidence that PIAA delivers the goods. They glide across the windshield glass silently and smoothly, and completely and effortlessly sweep all water away…as any quality wiper blade should do. Bottom line: they definitely perform far better than any windshield wiper I’ve ever used and because I’ll get much use out of them here in rainy Seattle, I’d say they’re worth the money spent–by far the most “useful” mod I’ve ever done on my Integra!

one word for you… rain-x

works great, repels water and doesn’t squeak for me. (hint- buy a big bottle at costco or some other kind of discout wherehouse store.)

BigE: I’ve been a long-time user of Rain-X, actually. And I do buy it by the gallon from Costco. For as much as I have to use Rain-X along with my wipers, however, applying it to the blades hasn’t worked all that well for me (as far as keeping the wipers squeak-free).

I’ll for sure get my money’s worth out of the PIAAs since it tends to rain a lot here.

you’re right… it could just be the blades. I have a box of ancos sitting in my garage (the “high speed” ones.) and they seem to work great for me. (my old job wasn’t carrying them anymore so I took them.)
