Picked up another G2 recently =)

I’ve missed my 92 white on blue LS I had when I was in high school, and after playing around with a dozen different cars since I decided to pick one up again!

I don’t have many pictures because I’m lazy but I’ll throw one in for good measure since no one likes to read without pics!

Its silver on brown, 260k miles, 91 5speed, good a/c etc.
New alt, distro, wheels + tires, brakes and some other bits.

Great daily beater, but I already have one of those so I’m using it for me “wrench on when bored car”.

I picked it up for 1200 a couple weeks ago, changed the oil, plugs, some other minor picking and it got me 36mpg driving DC to NYC.

I have now pulled out the interior from the back all the way up to the front seats and will get the rest out in the next couple weeks (while continuing to commute =)

It def needs some work, but I’m looking forward to it. Off the top of my head, I’m working on the following:

Stripping out the interior and repainting (I hate brown, plus I want it 100% minty clean. If I find a good interior of another at a JY I’ll use that instead). Exterior paint will come eventually. I also dislike the 90-91 Front so I’ll keep an eye out for a 92-93 or plain aftermarket bumper.

Drivers side door lock cylinder doesn’t work, so I ordered a 25$ ebay electric lock kit and will be adding it to all the doors and trunk.

The a/c and normal fan wiring is butchered. There is a manual switch for each, I’ll need to rewire back to stock operation.

The lower ball joints up front are SHOT. When I feel like punishing myself I’ll replace them, and any other suspension bits that look bad.

The speakers sound like crap. It has a good Kenwood head unit and I bought some Alpine Type S speakers to replace what was there, but when I installed them they still sound awful. They can get loud, but they sound tinny and awful, with 0 bass. Not sure what this implies? As I am pulling out the dash I will recheck the wiring, but even if the wires are switched they sound worse.

And naturally I’ll be building an engine on the side this winter with a target of 300whp for daily driving, likely using a holset again - still haven’t decided if I will do a quick ODB1 swap.

lol whats a quick obd swap??? when you do this post pics and a timer next to it lol. just givin u hard time hope u know what ur doin.

I’m not really that knowledgeable on the subject but I heard brown interiors are pretty rare. Like they only came on honey beige DA’s. Might be worth something. IDK, maybe someone else can confirm?

Hmm, I hate brown but I have the interior out - I’ll ask around but I’ll probably end up painting it haha.

RE: ODB swap - I’ve build EMS/harnesses from scratch for a handful of cars, I think I can handle swapping a distro, harness plug and injectors or resistor box

My interior is in great shape and came out real easy so if someone actually wants a brown interior, I’m happy to make a trade or sell it outright =)

Stripped the inside to bare metal, bleached everything to get rid of any mold, been fixing all the common little issues (blower motor, resistor, dash lights, cluster lights, climate control, window switches), started repainting all the plastics. Driving to work with just the steering wheel and pedals coming out of the dash, and one seat bolted in =)

Thank god you can just unplug the green clip from the belt box to get rid of those annoying beeps from no seats/no belts.

Damn double post. Anyone have any ideas on things I should fix while I’ve got her in pieces? I re greased my speedo cable but the bastard still squeals. I found that if I push it into the back of the speedo while its squealing, it stops.

its prolly honey beige on the outside but it just really faded
