Looking for some space saving ideas for sub boxes for my car. I need the whole back for equipment.

It is air tight, but i dont exactly know the cubic feet of the encloser which i think is too much for that speaker.
Oh well ill just stuff some cotton batting for the time being:shrug:
I would also recomend at least half inch formica(I think::think) quarter inch plywood dosent cut it.:whisper:

my old sub vs my new one
its a really old pic but i built this 5yrs ago and its been in 2tegs and it hits fuckin nice… my sq ft. i belive is 1.50 and its sealed which is within the spec of what size box these subs should be in.
i realized designing the box within spec of the cu. ft. is extremely important, a crap 29.99 kmart sub in the right box would prolly outperform the best sub in the world in a shitty designed box, lol no but seriously, that and having the box sealed tight is the 2most important things to concider when buildin the box. as for the type of wood i’d go with MDF, which is easy to workwith and is more resistant to vibration.
I take it you no longer have your spare tires in the car then. I would like to retain my spare tire and accessorys.
well i have a full sized GS-R spare sitting on top. which fits nicely, i think im going to redesign the box now that im done with the exterior to be more slim like yours, i just dont have the time now.
see the reason a box like that, although a great design would not have worked for me is that i wanted to meet the cubic ft. required for my subs. i like loud bass and push my subs as hard as they can go the whole time, and ive realized that sacrificing sound quality for a discrete design was something i wasnt willing to do.- had i had smaller subs or subwoofers with smaller magnets this might be possible but i had to work with what i got plus i built it 5years ago-
im doing a custom box in my e30 which i’ll post pics of now that im better at working with tools.
I’m not looking for a full bass system that will shake the car, just come bass for my ears only

Yea I lost my spair tire, but the enclosure itself is 1.8 ft^3 tuned to 40hz. I was hitting low-mid 150dbs outlaw depending on tuning, but with the lids over the amps and carpet rolled out no one would guess I had a system. You have to sacrafice somewhere. Maybe you should consider building fg enclosures inside the rear paneling where the stock speakers reside.

i saw this on a da on here a long time ago its not really a box but cold be made into one.
