Piston help??

I have a B18B that I’m going to swap in my 93 RS. THe question I have is what pistons should I run? I want to keep cost down of course can I run ITR or CTR pistons? If so what needs to be done to the block and head for the clearances? SHould I get some other aftermarket piston if so which ones would you guys recommend?

Another question I have is about cams, specifically the Crower 403’s and 404’s. Which would you recommend with a mild port and polish? I dont care if it has a rough idle or not. I’m going to upgrade the valve springs and retainers at the same time, Is it worth getting titanuim or will the others work for my application?

Thanks for all your help.
Hope to see all the OR guys at the track in MAY

Thanks for the help. The queastion I have is if I’m going with B16 pistons am I goping to to have to mill or doing anything elde to the block and head of the B18B. Thanks for the help.

b16a pistons will fit just fine in your b18a (no mods needed). but if you choose to use itr, ctr, or any b18c pistons you’ll have to have the rods shaved about 1mm on each side. Something that any machine shop can do, and it shouldn’t cost much either.

If you’re looking for a set of USDM ITR pistons I have a balanced set for sale here along with new piston rings still in the box.

Thanks for your help and offer. After seeing the page with the CR calculator I think I want to go with JDM B16A pistons and with no other mods needed makes it a plus.

actually, they also have to re-balance the rods/pistons because removing material from one end of the rods takes them out of balance. and that costs more money.

in order to get CTR pistons pressed on the shop was gonna charge me around 100 bucks or so when all was said and done (that included a new balancing of the crank, rods, and pistons).

But the B16A JDM should be fine right with no mods in a B18B block.

im attempting this soon… so i have to get the rods/pistons rebalanced?

how do i go upon doing so? take it to a car shop to get done basically? or can i get it done cheap at any machine shop?

anyway of checking if it needs it myself? or is it completely sure that i’d have to balance them?

dude, i have CTR pistons, already mounted and balanced on LS rods! these are ready to go! have new total seal rings on them too… please let me know if you are interested.

thanks,
bryan
