pod cluster in front of clock

anyone ever put a pod cluster in the dip in the dash right in front of the clock?

Why would anyone want to ruin a perfectly good dashboard by doing that?

i’m in the process of making one myself.

Id just modifiy the ashtray to accept the ipod and run the jack up through so that when you rest the ipod in the cradle it plugs right into the jack

I think he is talking about one of these, not an Ipod.

lol…“ipod”…i think thats cool when you put it there and have it hooked up post pics so i can c if i want to do it also

Actually… I’m in the process of both… I want to run water temp and oil pressure, but finding a good place to put them is getting kinda hard. I don’t want to mutilate my dash, but a few friends run double sided crazy strong velcro for a few things (gauges/vafc etc.) so they don’t have to drill holes… wouldn’t mind rocking a little pod velcro’d down in that dip part… Keeping an eye on some of the vitals is important to me…

As far as the ipod, I have my sandisk Sansa sitting in the center console by the ebrake, I have my aux cable and charger cord running to a USB car charger connecting to my cig. lighter, with the wires running under my cluster and coming out that little plug between the shifter based cluster and the e-brake cluster…

I’ll get a better pic… but you can kiiiinda see it …

not tryna be mean…but just a suggestion…i think you should clean that up cuz it seems kinda messy…or it could be just me cause i like to hide the wires as much as possible to keep a clean look thats why sometimes i cant stand looking in my engine bay:shrug:

Not really any other way to clean it up, it’s going under the console as close as it can… and coming out as close to the MP3 player as possible.

I know what you’re saying, but I didn’t see a better way to route it.

guages above CD player FTW! I was thinking about the whole dash thing too, but i found this and thought it was awesome.

I just used a Dual-din from crutchfields and a gauge face-plate thing from here: http://www.42draftdesigns.com/categories/products/tgp_mk4.htm

and a pic

i liked how this guy did it!

thats hot, except i dont like how 2 guages take up that entire area…

yeah i like the three pods n on the website they look like they came with that car stock…places ive seen pods are on the side next to window…in front of clock…in center console…and on the newer interas theres this really nice looking one that fits over the guage cluster with two pods one on each side in carbon fiber http://www.k2motor.com/acura20.html close up >http://us.st11.yimg.com/us.st.yimg.com/I/yhst-5006790027353_1999_118919632 …also in the glove box…i would have bought the frog eyes if they were for our year just cause of the look i could deal with 2 pods
