Policy for FOR SALE threads

Just sayin. No username tags on pics. anyone who wants to scam can google the same part and copy that pic off the internet. I don’t feel you are even slowing down the scammers with this move. We don’t have to conform to everything other forums are doing. we can keep a little individuality for ourselves.[/QUOTE]

You my friend… get it.

I think this is a good idea too. Also, adding the date of when the pic was taken would ensure no corrosion/rust issues.

Pix yes, name tag no. Let PayPal handle names and the money trail. Don’t pay cash for goods sight unseen. Pickup point for cash sales should be in a public location with LEOs on hand, unless of course you are selling a shell, short block or other large chunk of vehicle.

:up::up:

I’m going to write something up in the main G2IC FAQ and make a Force Read thread. Based on the fact that I have NEVER promoted “spoon feeding” anyone on G2IC, I will not be changing anything except the G2IC Policy for “buying and selling on G2IC” (and making a notice on the top of every thread listing). I will be strongly suggesting that customers be smart buyers, and purchase things ONLY IF they have received pictures of which, will be strongly suggested to the seller that he/she post pictures of their items in their threads. What I’m thinking here is that sellers will have more chances to make a sale if images are posted of their actual items (with their usernames), and buyers will be hesitant to purchase things without images. So you can say it’s voluntary. I have stated in the FAQ/Policy for probably over a decade now that if there is any doubt on purchases, that you should go through an escrow company.

Frankly, G2IC has slowed down considerably, and I don’t want to make people go away because being on here has become a nuisance. I’m all for self-responsibility. I also do not want to put extra burden on our mods.

Thanks Neil, great plan!

Yeah I agree

It looks like I have a VBULLETIN update to perform before I can implement this. Will get cracking on it as soon as I can.
