Poor man's rebuild vs. stock b20z

So for a daily commuter, is it worth doing a poor-man’s rebuild (hone, rod bearings, rings, valve-seals) or just dropping in a used b18b or CRV motor? (my 160k b18a uses oil now))

drop in another engine.

i’d rebuild it to educate myself. That would be neat. But since it sounds like this is your only car, you don’t have much time on your hands, and you don’t have much money - i’d say go get a B20z. Better HP/Torque figures. Just not sure if it’s more reliably sound than the other B-series engines (B18, B17, B16, etc.)
