portable player as sound source?

does anybody have any experience with wireing a portable player(mp3 or minidisk) into an rca input on a switchable source eq? I’m interested in knowing level inputs and sound guality…thinking of using an IPOD as a second head input via a switchable eclipse parametric EQ…any thoughts?

sure go ahead. ive used everything with great results: portable tape, portable cd, ipaq, notebook, anything. even with amps and subs heh

so the sound is clean and the levels are ok?..how do you controll volume? from the source?..seems logical I guess…

whichever suits you… for a while i didnt even have a deck and just used my notebook. win2k+winamp+dc/ac converter > amp
