Possible fuel issue? Only half of fuel filter filling up

Hi guys I have searched high and low on here and other honda sites but no such luck

My fuel pump had gone out and I decided to do a tuneup while replacing the pump
I replaced The fuel pump, fuel filter, spark plugs, plug wires and I have also tried switching the main fuel relay.

Essentially when I go to turn on the car it tries to start but it’s as if it’s not actually getting fuel to the rail. I opened the fuel filter and there was gas on the side from the fuel pump but completely empty on the side to the fuel rail.
So I tried loosening the banjo bolt on the fuel line from the rail and tried to turn the key to see if gas would shoot out and nothing. but when I did it on the side from the pump it would shoot out.

I am completely lost… is the a possibility that I shot up some crap into the filter and plugged it since the car was sitting for a couple months? it’s brand new otherwise.

Also side topic. I removed my a/c will I need to plug the firewall holes before I can start the car back up? or will that just affect my heating?

B18? Is the filter installed correctly? Have you checked to be sure you have adequate fuel pressure at the filter? Start by installing a fuel pressure gauge in the service bolt hole and confirming that you have enough pressure from the pump to the filter. I’m assuming that you have no leaks in the fuel lines. If pressure is between 39-46ish psi look closer at the FPR and FPR control solenoid if you have one in your car. I think you have possibly installed the fuel lines backwards. .02

it’s a stock 93 ls

I have not tried that yet. I need to pick up a gauge. I have looked over my lines and it seems to not have any leaks. I have also had another person tell me i may have installed them backwards since it’s a aftermarket filter and sometimes the lines aren’t correct.

also check your t-stat ground as well as the ground wire on tranny make sure there clean

Is that the reverse light ground that hookups between the radiator and the tranny?

No… ‘t-stat’ meaning Thermostat Housing Ground, back of the block, on the ‘Thermostat Housing’

Check that it is tight and that the connections/housing aren’t corroded, this can give you multiple different problems.

From the sounds of it I would lean towards the fuel lines being hooked up in the wrong order.
