sorry to go off topic but wats that air filter on the engine block and wat does it do exactly i wanna get one but i dunno wat it does other than replace the hose it looks sexy
that hose is for the PCV valve (positive crankcase vent. valve)…simply put dont use the air filters keep that hose there…if you want to kno more bout the pcv just type it up in “search” and u should get tons of results and tons of reasons y a lot of people dont put thos on their motors…
peace
o…yea…one more thing thats the head not block
peace
I know this is a dumb question but what does DA/DB stand for thankjyou verry much.
DAs are 90-93 integras
DC2,4 are 94-00 integras 2 drs
DB2 are 92-93 gsrs
DBs (except for DB2) are 4 drs
DC5 are RSX
its the chassie codes that are found on the VIN
I have been told that a catch can is better to use than that lil filter looking thingy. I now have the catch can so that I don’t mess up my motor.
well basically the catch can and the pcv valve pretty much does the same thing… in a way…
so people who usually remove their pcv (for wut eva reason) either has a really good knowledge of what they are doing when they are removing the pcv OR they simply just removed it because they think that air filter looks cooler…
but to my understanding is that the motor should be like a “closed/ sealed” system oil wise (not air fuel thos are different systems.) so with that air filter in place it is no longer a sealed system…so personally keep the hose there unless you have legit reasons to change it out besides looks…this isnt really ne thing that big of a deal but its more of a function thing than a fashion so…jsut keep the hose.
peace
Ill post new pics of the car soon! :ot:
Rare OEM Alpine Made Alarm for DB1z…90-93
Still working great on my Teg. EBAY find. 2 Controls bought at Acura Dealer.
Controls Locks (keyless Entry), Horn, and Lights.
Oh and I also purchased a nice OEM Radio/Cassette/CD Head Unit for her aswell. It sounds great.
D,
Did you pick that up from ICB? I’m still not totally convinced that its real. I’ve never seen one before in person, and that includes Japan. I’d like to check it out in person!
Props!
J.
I actually had lunch with ICB Matt while I was over there, and we talked a bit about fake/real. He admitted at first he thought it was fake but saw it in a Mugen catalog with the clear LED, and the material itself (a spongy soft type of plastic or urethane) is consistent with being a real one. Also, the underside of the spoiler with the LED has the plates with screws that to my understanding were on the real one.
p.s. Damn this shitty autofocus on the new camera, granted it was dark but every damn thing is out of focus with this thing.
(the spoiler isn’t for me btw, I just picked it up since I was in AZ)
D,
Ya, all of the detail is there, I just can’t figure out the little Honda Logo. Is there an inset for that thing that is part of the mold? The LED definetly looks real, and I’ve seen the wing with the LED just like the one you got, but the material looks too soft in the pictures, if you know what I mean?
Email me and let me know what you paid for it, I’m kinda curious…
J.
Actually, we think that it was just something the previous owner put on. Matt thinks it came off of a motorcycle or something. The new owner plans on removing it permanently when it gets painted (this week). We’re all 99.9% sure its not a part of the Mugen spoiler.
Looking at it from an aerodynamicist standpoint, the airfoil shaping and aero tuning that went into it are consistent with other genuine Mugen aero parts I’ve seen… versus the obvious lack of aero R&D on the copied versions.
I was suprised at the wide variety of differences between this one and the one Dave has… I’m going to email him some pictures of it in a bit and see what he thinks. I’ve never felt his spoiler and how soft the material is, but this one is definately soft, to the point where you can indent it with your finger.

Why we use to say, back in 93’:
“Hey, nice Boogie Board!”

USDM version is fiberglass…i like the spongy mugen wing feeling though…but they split/crack over time if not cared for…
Iv never seen one with the clear third brake light! Pretty good find!
i wanna see a pic of that on a car…looks cool, and does is say marlboro on top, thats kick ass!!
The “H” symbol looks OUT OF PLACE…Like it was put there by some one…Looks a bit ricey to me…IMO…
well def. authentic mugen emblem at least.
