Power loss with headers

So I have a problem with my car a couple of months ago I installed a cat back exhuast and the car ran great and yesterday I installed some headers and now for some reson I have power loss after about 4500 rpms it will struggle to get uP 5 and when it does it will slowly drop back down then it will all a sudden come back up and climb back up slowly. I keep the o2 sensor from my last manifold in it could that be the plroblem? Has anyone else had this problem ?

try changing the o2 sensor… Allthough power loss as you have described it almost sounds timing related.

But… a failing or fouled out o2 sensor can also cause described issues.

ALso reset the ecu, the let it relearn etc. Welfare can explain that better than me…

Your ‘butt dyno’ is going to be much less than accurate… It doesn’t sound like a power-loss due to the header, it sounds like a bog or hesitation.

Try to better describe what is happening… From the sounds of it, you are experiencing a power loss/bog at around 5k rpm? Is that at Wide Open Throttle? If so, what about if you only give it say 75% throttle? Same problem?

What header did you install? Was it an upgrade from the stock setup? What catalytic converter do you jave, and what condition is it in.

We need as much info as possible in order to give an accurate assumption of what is wrong…

Sorry I have no cat I have two test pipes which is what came with the kit Megan racing is the brand and headers are a tempary eBay special
Yes the car gets up to 5000 and then starts bog out and rpms drop then it will rise up again and that’s when I am at full throttle and if I try it at 50% or 70% it is not as noticeable but can still feel it as a driver.
As far as the shape of it is about 2 mOnths use on exhuast and 1 week on headers.
I just rebuilt head and timing is dead nuts checked it twice.
What I did notice is that the o2 bung is taller on headers than the manifold and was wondering if the o2 sensor is in the pipe far enough ?
