So my DA used to pull pretty good stock but now it revs smooth but doesn’t seem to go hard any more and harder throttle doesn’t seem to do as much as I believe it should, I was thinkin trans but any other ideas?
Maybe you need to use 91 octane gas only, or give your engine a tune up like new ignition plugs and oil.
give us a lil history on any mods or anything done recently…
Ditto the above^^^ need way more info, starting with MM&Y of car. 94
deff neeed more info… it can be sumtin simple as plugs wires n cap n rotor orr it can be ur timing belt jumped a tooth…or a clogged fuel filter…or evven major worn piston rings or a slipping clutch
Ngk plugs/wires brand new, could get cap n rotor and clutch is fine and haven’t checked fuel system, I only run 91 oct, probly gona replace fuel pump/press. Regulator, also timing belt is great along with cam gears, did oil change 2745 miles ago, valve job 2 weeks ago or so…any ideas? Also doesn’t seem to burn oil so I don’t think its the piston rings
Check your fuel pressure …dont just start changing stuff…valve job done 2 weeks ago …hmmmmm…check your tps as well
Another thing to try since you replaced some of the ingition parts is to try your old ones again if you got em. Double check your plugs. Just because you bought n changed in something new doesnt mean it cant be faulty. Just a thought n hope you get things running smooth again.
R1
did you gap the plugs? many times plugs don’t come pre-gapped. if you’re just running a stock b18a/b, you shouldn’t be running 91. it has a higher flash point than that engine is designed to use. ie, burns at a higher temperature (resistance to knock).
a good way to check condition of a motor is through a vacuum test. compare readings to spec
Yea I gapped them…no offense but I’m not retarded lol, and my car does actually run better on 91 and I know what the difference in the octanes is I may have found a vaccum leak I just have to check it out but I really want to replace the entire fuel system along with intake and exhaust manifolds any suggestions for parts/brands? This decition is not becausee of my problems though… by upgrading I will get more efficiency and power…also already have greddy cat/back
lol. a lot of people don’t know that. doesn’t make them retarded.
personally, if it were my car, i’d figure out the problem before spending money on replacing the intake/exhaust and fuel system.
have you noticed a change in fuel economy since this issue?
Lol thanks, I didn’t mean literally retarded I meant I don’t lack that information lol
