i did this to two tegs and its really not that hard to turn when your not moving. one was my daily driver for 3 years and the other is my track car.
btw i forgot to mention that there’s two valves you take out which will make it much easier to turn. it’s the two cylinder ones with 2 springs. the other one with the rod you leave it alone otherwise the steering will become sloppy.
Where do you take the two valves out from? Should I just loop the lines like you said to do and not run a breather? If you could explain in detail I would appreciate it very much!
i didn’t do the breather. i simply cut the old lines off and looped the lines right away. didn’t wait for fluid to come out or anything. the valves are located just right of where your looping the lines. i believe its 3 10mm bolts that hold it on. you can do it in place it’s just a little tricky to put the cover back on with the gasket but doable. you remove the two bottom bolts and unscrew enough of the top one to flip the cover.

CRAPP!!! I just cut all the lines and removed them completely throughout the engine bay. Does this mean my speedo won’t work? What line goes to the tranny? Anyone have pics? They would make it way clearer.
I also have that cylinder thing that has the 2 nipples sticking out of it that you can see when looking down from the engine bay. What do I do with that?
Are you talking about the reservoir? Anyways… for the other question - Find the two lines on the tranny coming from the rack and loop them at the tranny. You can use one of the short rubber hoses already there or use new hose.
back from the dead. looping the lines this weekend. what line goes to the speedo? I need to make sure that it still works. I cut a few lines, but nothing at the rack. I only cut, maybe, 2 lines from the pump, only because they were a bitch to unbolt, so I said “F that” and just hacked them out. Nothing from the damn pump goes to the trans or speedo does it?
