power to weight ratio

What is everyone’s power to weight ratio?

My power is 277whp, and my weight (without me in the car) is 2425.

So my power to weight ratio is 8.75. So for every 8.75 pounds, I use 1 horsepower to move that weight around. What’s yours?

My power is 115whp and weight w/o is 2500 est. I avg around around 1 horsepower to move 21lbs. that alot of weight to be moved.

Do I do teh formula right?

WHP Divided weight= ?

Actually it’s power/weight ratio meaning you take your power and divide by your weight. So Stu has a p/w ratio of 0.114 and you have a ratio of 0.046

The closer you rnumber is to 1.000 the better your p/w ratio is for your car. Having a p/w ratio of 8.something would be freakin awesome! But you would have to have a car 8 times more powerful than it weighed :stuck_out_tongue: :burnout:

do u ever race a us19 dragway?

Haven’t been to US19 Dragway yet. Until recently, I didn’t have a Teg that I wanted people to see on the stip, plus it probably wouldn’t have tech’d out. But I hope to get out there soon now that I have my new Teg!

I’ve been to the Douglas strip before and REALLY want to check out the new Adel/Cecil 1/4 mi strip!!! I think they are having import drags on Oct 30. I’ll be there with bells on :stuck_out_tongue:

.189

I wish we had a dyno here for me to get my hp’s

we measure it as weight to power for ICSCC Production. so I have 2520lbs/140bhp = 18. 9lbs/1whp would be really nice.

EDIT: That’s with driver. It can be lighter and will run at 2480lbs in SCCA ITA and Honda Challenge H4.

:werd: I’m guestimating I have somewhere between 230-250 whp/tq.

stock weight is about 3000lbs but mine has lost a bit of weight. so whatever that would be, I dont know what formula you guys are using to figure it out.

EDIT:

using this, mine is 240whp/3000lbs = 12.5lbs/1whp  I dont know, I suck at math.

ya, i used to race my old teg there, got a 9.6 as a best

then i won a db drag in my civic there…
