I have a 92 teg with power windows. The motor runs but the glass does not move. I opened the door panel and the motor it self is running but the track doesn’t seem to be moving. The motor is unbolted (I have no idea why). It appears the window is being held up by the adjutments on the top of the door. I need advice on how to figure out if something is broken or if it just needs to be hooked back up and how to do that.
i suggest pushing that window all the way up by hand. then hook up the motor and make sure u line up the splines to the thing just right. u’ll have to hold the window in place…(it might not even drop down but be safe). but be careful not to keep moving that motor up and down without it hooked up to the window… i dunno if its just me and or my friends, but from experience moving that motor without resistance on it (the window hooked up to it) it will cause the motor to fry.
but just bolt the motor up… then make sure its secure, then test it. if it stops before its all the way up or all the way down, u gotta unbolt the motor, and slightly move the window up or down to adjust where the splines line up to the motor. then try again. it shouldn’t be hard tho.
deffinatly sounds like the window is not hooked up to the regulator.
get some help, you deffinatly dont want that piece of glass to just fall down into the door when you figgure out whats holding it up.
I thought the motor and the regulator where in one piece. I could be wrong on this though. but if its not going all the way up or down, you might have other issues.
