whats up everyone. ive got a 90 integra ls. i adjusted the valves and now the car runs like shit when it gets started. i adjusted to the haynes manual. everything seemed fine when i was doing it. it ran when i first adjusted.then i cut it off and readjusted now it wont start. i did turn the motor the wrong way when setting TDC could this mess anything up?
Turning the crank pulley clockwise may have caused the belt to jump a tooth on the exhaust cam. This could explain the poor running engine.
I would too try to see if you jump timing and if that isnt it then I would do a compression test.
does it pop and bang when you try to crank it over like the OP said you probably skipped a tooth on your timing belt.
I beleive you skipped a tooth as welll…simple thing to doo …
- Take off valve cover
- Take off timing belt cover
3.crank it counter clockwise to tdc mark on pulley - On tdc mark on pulley your cam gears shud have and arrow on each of them sayin up …they shud obviously both be pointing up if one cam gear looks off then u jumped a tooth.
- Also you can look at both cams lobes on the #1 cylinder they shouldnt be touching the valves they should be both pointing out when ur at tdc #1 cylinder compression stroke…
Hope that helpsss bcz it should
