I have a act 6 puck extreme, I installed it and i couldn’t get the car to go into gear and wound up using up all of the adjustment in the pedal. I called act and they said i must have the wrong throw out bearing so they sent me another one the they have for 90 tegs well this one isn’t any different in depth like i need in order for it to disengage the clutch. So neway i got to looking around and i have an S1 tranny went to my trusty swap guide in sport compact mag and that was a japanese tranny that was mated to a b16. My question is do i need to try a b16 to bearing to make this work or has ne one out ther had any problems. Let me know thanks
Be sure that that lever assy inside the housing…the part that pushes on the pressure plate…is put together right. It’s hard to explain…if I had the pic from the repaire manual I’d show you…
the throw out fork is assembeled and installed correctly i have a hanes manual

i have the same problem… rite now wid my clutch masters… i got the stage 3 wid flywheel… at first it didnt disengage then i adjusted my cable all the way then it would grap a little bit but not much and i have a hard time shifting and can never get it in reverse… if i tried it grinded like crazy… just got dont taking it all apart again…
ne ideas??? btw i have a jdm 1st gen b16a wid a s1 tranny…
and the clutch is 90 integ clutch… the alignment and spline gears fit but i dunno wats going on…
For the time being my motor is in the shop having some head studs cut and such but i have been taking some measurements and found that i think the problem is the throwout bearing i have since recieved 2 more bearings from act and think that i have found one that will work i just wonder if the t.o. bearing from a 99si is the same as the one for our s1 trannys since they were mated to b16’s. I will report my findings when my motor gets back and i get the car back together
hey i had a 91 eagle talon AWD turbo…with many mods like 16g turbo ,ic pipe, bigger inj, f-rail, icpipe, f-pump, etc.
so i had to buy a better clutch i had a clutchmasters but after 40,000miles it was toast.
so i heard act was the best i baught the 2600 lbs mutha fcker…
so it would grab off the line when i dumb it from 7 grandL* gotta love AWD
well i had the clutch put in and i had the same problem u did.
first it wouldnt go in gear at all (BTW it was a hydrolic tranny)
so i re-bled it, resurfaced flywheel, and finally took the whole pedal assembly out!!! pain in the ass
after that it would go in gear but it was extreamly hard to get in gear - like it would grind and u would have to shove it in…
well i never got around to fixing it as my engine like died that week and i sold the talon - and i dunno what the problem really was…
but maybe i was thinking maybe once in a while ACT makes faulty disk’s or plates, who knows?
that is a thought i don’t know what the problem is but i will solve it and i have my theories i even thought that maybe the jun flywheel was a little too thin and maybe keeping the t.o. bearing just far enuf away from the press plate splines that it wouldn’t disengage but after measuring and other stupid little tests i found that definiately not to be the problem ne one else have ne ideas
