problems starting on warm days

ok this has been a reaccuring problem. On cool days my car will start fine but on warm days it will start and shut its self back off and i have to wait a few mins then it will start right up fine. What i have been doing is having to watch the check engine light and wait of a lil click when it goes off if it doesnt click when the light goes off on a warm day the car isnt going to start on first try. I thought it might have been the fuel filter because it was clogged so i changed the filter, and thought it might have been a spark issue so i changed the plugs and wires. i dont know what it could because if the tempature is cool the car starts up just fine but if it is a hot and humid day the car has issues starting and may take 4 or 5 try to start and once i get it to start i have to give it gas or it will not stay running im starting to think it may be a bad fuel pump but why would i only be having problems on hot days and not every day if it was the pump? if someone could help me out that owuld be awesome.

like everyone here will tell you is SEARCH. main fuel relay

that click you hear is that relay working when it doesnt click its not working.

its the soldered joints INSIDE the relay, on hot days they (metal) expand and crack causing no connection resulting in no signal to the fuel pump to run. on cold days the connections are touching.

search MFR and it will tell you how to fix it, if you can solder, or just replace it. but they arent cheap

thanks i searched but didnt know what the hell i was actually searchign for some thanks for helping

no problem. i know searching can be tricky finding the right words, thats why i thought i would help a bit. but most on here will jump on ya and make ya search or find the thread and link you to it instead

good luck

even if you do solder, it doesnt last forever ( beleive me i know)

Go on ebay or something and find a new one while yours is moderately working. I got one on ebay from some dealership in California for like 60$,

its prob the first and last time you’ll have to replace it.

take your ignitore in autozone to get tested. chances are its your ignitore.

half twisted

take your ignitore in autozone to get tested. chances are its your ignitore.

ok i have worked on cars for a long time now and i even have heard of some really off the wall parts , i even saw a part called a muffler bearing (if you work on farm or heavy equipment you’ll know what it is) but what part is a ignitore? and how does autozone test for one ?

i think he meant igniter… item 10 in the diagram
