problems with pilot front strut tower bar fitting.

i bought this pilot strut tower bar off of cardomain.com. other people on heer have said that they got this bar to work, im curious of how. i tried to install it and one side bolts to the stop of the strut fine, the other side however, the side with the fusebox and i believe the brake fluid resevoir, cannot bolt on due to the brake fluid resevoir being in the way. i will try and post pics soon, does anyone know how to make this work?

Remove the bracket holding the ABS harness/plugs near the fuse box.

I had the same problem with the pilot bar. its hard to find a decent bar that fits the abs tegs.

how;d you get it to fit then.

Here’s a pic of my pilot bar…notice the black bracket on the abs is taken off…

I’ll try and take some closer pics tomorrow… I know for sure that one of the bolts needed to be trimmed…

yea please take more pics if u can cause from the picture it looks exactly like mine, i got the driverside to fit but the passengerside i dunno wut the hell to do to make it work.

which bolt needed to be trimmed?

u get those other pics.

HTH

hmm i have no idea how u got that on there. lol

take a pic of your’s so I can see what’s blocking it…

here’s some different angles

So I just bought a Pilot front upper for my GS, got it on the cheap. Tried mounting it this evening but the reservoir was in the way. I thought it was just those harnesses I would need to move but re-reading now I see that I need to remove that bracket. I did try that tonight though, I just couldn’t figure out how to get it out of there. I only found one bolt (the corner closest to the engine) but it still wouldn’t lift.

I checked my Haynes manual but they don’t really show much of that. Maybe in the daylight, without all of the mosquitos. But I know a lot of people have done this, any pointers?

theres 2 bolts, the second is on the backside

Ahh cool, well I’ll check tomorrow afternoon, see if I can get that fitted.

-Thanks

Got it in!

The second bolt on that ABS bracket was a huge pain to get out. And we had to modify the passenger side strut bar mount to get it to go around the reservoir. But it’s in, it clears the ABS and the dashpot just fine.
