Dear Matt you should take that silly itr linkage out and sell it to me. that would be the smart idea;) gawd you know you could fab up one right?
i want an itr shift linkage but apparently i cant find one:( Now i thought the itr shift linkage and dual bend sits closer in for a tighter shifting feel?
I found mine on Ebay together with linkage and shifter for only 99 shipped! They pop up on Ebay from time to time. The shifting is so gated with the Type-R shifter and Linkage.
^^ werd good looking out. just found 2 on ebay. gonna buy one for sure:D
matty, never had the ITR linkage just a DC2 short shifter and for me i didn’t like its positioning, personal preference of course.
Oh man, you need the ITR shifter to complete it that’s why.
The DC Linkages/shifter are no different, but the color between Type-R (zinc) and non-Type-R (black)
corrected by the penny man.
I’m lost finding the point of what you’re saying…
The combo of a DC short shifter with a DC linkage is what you prefer?
So then, a DA linkage sits differently than the DC linkage?
Yeah, the DC linkage/shifter is what I prefer after sitting and feeling a lot of other shifters in the DA. The DC shifter sits a little bit more back which is closer to you.
got my short shift done the right way. Got it welded for $10 by a friend and i just installed it. All is good and I don’t think I have to worry about it breaking at all. I still had 2 inches cut out of the top but only added half an inch to the bottom. It works out great and has plenty of clearence over the exhaust. The throw is by far the shortest i’ve ever felt on any shifter but I love it. I’ll take a picture and a video and post it up later.
Haha. i could never drive with that. Id have to lean forward to be able to reach something that low.
Looks good though.
lol I sit pretty close to my steering wheel though, I don’t lean back like a gang banger
well im 6’2" so i sit all the way back…
oh yea man I can understand that. I’m only 5’9 so it’s perfect for me. I don’t know if you’ve ever had askunk2 one but it’s alittle bit lower then that and like twice as short of a throw
the throw looks about the same as my B&M short shifter. Not bad for a DIY project. Seems to be that the throw is on par with a properly built shifter on the aftermarket.
Yes sir. Helps to get it actaully welded haha, But i’m glad I did it. It was a fun little project despite the everything I messed up on. Now I just need to get an actual shift knob for it.
very nice, glad to hear you fixed it up the right way. way to think outside of the box
Just thought i’d go ahead and let everyone know that the shifter is still working, and I haven’t had any issues with it
