Proper b20/vtec setup?

I have my b16 head and am waiting on my b20 block, are these other precautionary parts i have on the list good enough. If they are I want to go ahead and order them this week tell me what you think.

Z10 Engineering b20/vtec block gridle
Probe Forged Rods
ARP Rod Bolts
ARP B18c Head studs
Type R oil Pump
Type R Water Pump
Itr Full Intake Manifold w/t injectors
B18c Timing Belt
90-91 Integra Distributor Cap
90-91 Integra Distributor Rotor
Top end and Bottom End Honda Gasket Kits

Also was planning on having the block honed, oh and I have another question i have a set of CTR pistons. Could I safley use these, i’ve heard the compression is too much, what kind of numbers would i be seeing with CTR pistons. Thanks for any help you guys can give me.

CTR pistons are 81mm bore. The B20 block is an 84mm bore, so no you can’t use them.

How are you ordering your rods and how much do they cost? Look at my sig and you’ll see why I’m interested.

Oh, and I used to live in Newark. I graduated from Newark Memorial in 98.

Type R oil pump will require you to get a new timing belt cover

with a VTEC head?[/B]

You can use a non VTEC distributor with a VTEC head but you’ll have to cut one of the legs off the distributor because the VTEC selonoid will be in the way. People have run their set ups like this and say that 2 legs holds the distributor on just fine, but I’d go with a NON OBD VTEC distributor just to be safe.

Thanks for clearing that up, Steve. How far away from the meet do you live?
Snootchie Bootchies…

I live a little less than an hour south of Sac.

Steve, I am sorry for lagging on the head bolt issue. We used my B17 head bolts…poo poo caca head:D

Hmmmm…I’ll probably still stick to my plan. B18C1 ARP head bolts, those should work right…Pooh Punk ButtFace.:shy:

mmmm… I would check on that to be sure. The B18C head height may be different…but, what do I know… sizzle chest:shock:

wellllllllllllllll…I could always pick up some B16 headbolts from some where…Vagisil thighs.

Ryan, the only reason Steve got you guys a room last time is because he knows you guys can’t cook and you could just have room service send up breakfast:shock:

Ryan, check out the sticker Steve had on his car when he came down to pick up the B20 from me. Make sure you turn up your speakers really loud.

You know, when John gave me directions to his place he said he’d be out front by the street sign. When I got there, I snapped a picture.

haha you guys are funny, hahaha

the 90-91 distributor cap is the one that fits the non-obd vtec distributor so maybe that’s what he meant. using a non-vtec distributor on a vtec head is super ghetto. only one of the bolts can actually go in. the other bolt can only clamp down the side of the leg.

oh, and b18c headstuds work for b16/b17a’s
