Ps. Help!!. 2 repair shop and nothing

Hello everyone,
New member here. Great site by the way.

Well, here is my problem . I have a 91 integra Ls . with 174, 000 miles on it. The timing belt , clutch, , fuel filter, altenator, spark plug wires were all done about 3 or 4 yrs ago. by the dealerI only driven it about 30,000 since those replacements were made. Recently I had a valve adjustment done and a camshaft seal replace along with my oil change a coupel of weeks ago. Well, a couple of weeks ago, my car decide to die out at a stop light. I couldn’t restart it. Just sat and try to star t the car but it won’t start. car but I got it to start. Then about 2 weeks later. I was about to go to work in the morrning but when i try to start it it wouldn’t start. Just crank but not fire. I eventually got it to start up so I just let it idle for about 2 or 3 minutes. It was idlting close to 2000 rpm and then it was dropping and dropping then arouind 1000 rpm then it died out. and won’t start up again I just left my car at my house for a week because I had to take other means of transportation to work. On the weekend, i went to start it and it started up. let it idle and it was fine so i drove it to a repair shop that my friend goes to… they had it for about 4 days and said nothing was wrong. So i took it to another shop and the mechanic was spraying carb cleaner around the (vaccum hoses)wires and then the car shut down and it restart again. but then he trie spraying around again but it didn’t do it again. so i left the car there for 3 days and called back today and he said he couldn’t recreate the stall. He said that he thinks it might be the fuel relay but isn’t sure what to do . He doesn’t want to be replacing stuff and ringing up a hefty bill for me. so he said drive it around til happens again. Please Help. what could it be? This is driving me insane. I looked everywhere for some help and then I ran into this Great site deciated to G2 integra owners.

What could be creating this problem? the distributor? fuel filter, fuel pump? relay?

Please help.

thanks

Sounds like it definately could be the main fuel relay. Not a hard nor expensive job either. If you have the car now, run a search on this site for “Main Fuel Relay” and you should find what you need to complete the job yourself. When it dies, does it feel like it’s running out of gas? If so, maybe the fuel pump, or simply the main fuel relay.

Run a search – this problem seems to happen frequently, especially in hot weather to our 10+ year old cars.

I forgot to mention that. When i was driving to the 1st repair shop, i went thru a set of lights and I saw the RPM jump up and down and back up and down for a couple of seconds. It didn’t stall or anything… I just thought that was strange… cause after owning this car for about 4 -5 yrs that never happen. i don’t know how the other 1st owner took care of it.
