I have kumo ast and I see on the sidewall the max psi is 51. I know you never set it on that but what is the ideal psi for these tires. I inflated them to 35. Is that ok?
35 is normal psi on all tires in my opinion. I’m running 35psi all around.
I’m running between 40-45 on my Khumo Ecstas
Guys who drift inflate their tires WELL over the max pressure, so you’ll be fine coming within 10psi of it
Those pressures all seem pretty high to me - at least for street pressure. The manufacturer recommended tire pressure is going to be listed in your door jamb on the sticker that has some general info about the car (paint code, interior code, maximum hauling capacity…etc). I haven’t looked at mine in years, but IIRC the recommended pressure is about 28-29PSI. I personally always thought that was a little low and would run 30-32 depending on the tires I was using. Plus, a little added pressure is usually (theoretically) better for gas mileage.
35PSI should be fine, but that seems higher than ideal to me for cold street pressures. 40-45 is way high. On the track I run 30-32 cold and about 37-40 hot, I can’t see needing that high, or higher as your cold street pressure.

Thanks Colin. I knew about listed on the door jam but that is considered for the stock wheels correct? I have different rims and tires such as fat fives. And I was concerned at the rating on the side wall stating 51psi is the max. 35 is what I set it on as you mentioned . thanks.
You can google it to be sure, but I’m pretty sure the DC Integras (thus “fat fives”) are basically the same pressure as the DA, maybe 1-2 PSI higher at most. I’m sure you can find that pressure if you google it.
I have work for Firestone for 12 years the door jam says 28 psi you can bump it up one or two pound its OK it do not matter if you run different size tires/rims you keep them at that pressure. over inflate the tire they will wear out faster and unevenly you will have a very ruff ride and they will not grip as will its just not safe…
you never want to max out the tires to the pressure that is written on side of them unless you have a lot of junk you trying to carry
under inflate the tire will over heat and blow out the side walls…
my general rule of thumb is 40 psi.
40 is too much
