put brakes together and back on and

I got everything put back together and bled the lines and took her for her first drive in about a week. Everything seems to be working well. I went around the block a few times just pumping the brakes and coasting around in neutral trying to listen to any abnormal sounds. The only thing I can hear is there is some weird chirping sound that seems to be coming from the corner of the car I did all the work to. For the record I rebuilt the brake caliper and installed a brembo blank and AEM brake pads. I considered the sound being the brake pad rubbing on the rotor but the weird thing is that it only happens when I’m turning the wheel right or left. And it’s not a constant chirping just one chirp every time the wheel revolves. So it’s like…chirp…chirp…chirp and then chirp.chirp.chirp when I’m going faster. And there isn’t any noise than I can hear when I apply the brakes.
I’m wondering what this could be. Maybe I just need to let the brakes get settled in or something. Thanks for following along.

Oh and I’m trying to replace the rotor and pads on the other side(the rear) so the brakes will match on either side but I can’t get the screws out of the rotor. I tried using bolts in the other holes in the rotor like the helm’s manual said but they claimed the bolts needed to be 8x1mm and I got a pair of those and tried them and I think they must have been wrong in the helm’s because I think I stripped the threads in there. And the heads on the screws are pretty stripped to. Am I going to need to use a drill to drill out the screws in there now?

i had the same problem w/ the screws in the rotors…i posted on here…was told to get an impact wrench…however…i ended up taking it to firestone and they loosened them all for me…all 4 corners…for like $10…then i went to honda and bought 8 new screws (obv 2 per rotor)…so i ended up doing 4 rotors that day…4 sets of pads…and 8 new screws…pretty successful day

re

In order to remove to screw w/o damaging them is with an impact screw driver( the thing you hit with a hammer) because these screws are torqued pretty good after 50-100,000 clicks, The noise maybe a wheel bearing, or did you check the dust shield they always bend a little and make some noise…

The chirping has stopped. I guess it just had to get settled whatever it was. But I’m still kinda wondering how I’m going to get the screws out of the rotor. I know now that I should have used an impact screwdriver like everyone says but I didn’t need one for the other side so the thought never crossed my mind. So in the process of trying to get them off with a regular screwdriver I have pretty much stripped the head off of the screws. So my real problem is how to get the screws out since I can’t use a screw driver anymore. Last resort would be to drill them out. But I’ll take suggestions until I have to do that.

You’ll have to use a combination of Liquid Wrench, Propane Torch, Drill, & Screw Extractor.

Be careful, if you do fully drill them out coz’ you’ll have to re-tap the holes.

Good luck,

hey man, just take it the the gas station or some shop and have them take out the screws. they should probably be able to get it out and it’ll probalby only cost like $5 - $10
