ok guys i just changed my oil pan gasket and after driving it i noticed that it started to leak again and dont know what it would be but if something else could be the problem please help me out any info would be great. it looks like its leaking from the back also
I had a similar problem and after pulling the oil pan twice…it was actually my rear seal was leaking.
is that a easy fix and where is the rear seal located
depends on how mechanically inclined you are. its behind the flywheel so everything there out has to come off. Transmission, clutch, flywheel and everything else involved in getting the tranny out.
cud be oil sending unit too or oil filter or rear main seal or oil pressure switch in generalization
make sure you also check the rear breather chamber.
Replacing the oil pan gasket is a bit tricky, especially if you don’t torque the nuts down tight enough or in the correct order. You may also have an issue if your oil pan is warped. Can you pinpoint where the leak is coming from?
alright guys i fixed the leak already it was my damn oil filter. the old seal was stuck on the block and didnt let the filter seal right glad it was a small thing thanks for all your guys help.
lol common mistake people makee…that could seize up your engine quickly
man i didnt know that it could seize up the motor glad i fixed it fast and my cars still running strong with 330k
welll yeaa lack of oil can seize up your engine…just imagine if u turned on ur car one morning and the oil filter had 2 O-rings and u never realized u were leaking oil minutes down the road u would be stuck with a engine that doesnt turn lol
LLS i remember that happening to me…my mechanic was quite pissed…but it wasnt my fault, i couldnt see that the old gasket from teh old oil filter was still stuck on there…on well, you live and you learn
I just got a moroso oil pan and new gasket but it leaks just a very tiny bit…haven’t gone under there to check but I hope its not the filter…btw I put on a hamp filter too so yea.
