Qualcomm Stadium, 1/8 mile drag

Hello fellow G2IC’ers… i’m just wondering if anyone from Southern California been out to the Qualcomm 1/8 mi…

How’s the atmosphere out there… i’m planning to go this evening because my buddy told me about it.

I’m looking for your feedback. Thanks!

I’ve never been to the 1/8th mile drag races, but I’ve been to a bunch of autox events there on the weekends. Are you going to run tonight? If so, maybe you can do a write up about it.

the Q

Nino,
My plan is to go and drag race the 1/8 mi at Qualcomm tonight. I hope that my plans do not change.
I’m not sure how to do a write up (cuz i’m new here), but i’ll definitely update you all on my experience and the atmosphere out there at the “Q”.
Go Chargers!!

Cool. I was thinking that maybe you could just let us know what you had to do in order to run. For example, how much it cost, is there some kind of membership required, tech inspection, etc… Hope all went well.

1/8th @ the Q

Well, it was my first time out to the track. I need a lot more practice out there drag racing. Here is my best time slip for the night:

1/8 mile at Qualcomm Stadium
Reaction: 0.934
60’: 2.514
MPH: 69.76
ET: 10.396

It looks like i’m not even breaking 16.0 sec 1/4 mile… My mods:

DA9 w/ dc headers 4-2-1…and everything else is stock.

Dragging at the Q

  1. FEE’s $30.00 (racers)/$8.00 (spectator) and pre-register $25/$5
  2. No membership required. Track is open to everyone!
  3. Gate and Tech open at 6 PM.
  4. Racing begins at 6:30 PM, but people were racing before 6:30 PM.
  5. They had two lanes (fast/slow cars)… but one of the lanes was out of commission and when that happened, the line was pretty long.
  6. Helmet required.

All the above can be found per website: http://www.racelegal.com/

I didn’t see any other G2 racing??.. I only saw a little bit over a dozen of other Honda’s and Acura’s… Anyways, it was good times and i hope that with a few more mod’s and alot more practice I can break 10 seconds on the eighth mi.

How many runs did you get?
-nino

Nino,
I got in about 10 runs… and I also ran one of my friends corolla Xrs once… so about 11 runs total… i was there from 6:15 PM to about 9:45 PM. i also took about a 30 min break to watch people race. This is my first time out, so i’m not sure if that was good or bad, but i think overall I got in a lot of runs. Racing didn’t stop until midnight, but I had to head out of town so that’s why I left early. Also, after a few runs, i don’t think people wanted to see me run my slow DA… But this is my buddy’s quote: “Those who can’t do watch!” Anyways, it’s all good because it was my first time out. I need to go back and pratice on my 60’… hopefully, if i get an CAI, i can break 10s…?:cross:
