qucik release, steering wheel lock q's

ok well the deal is i cant afford to have 2 cars and a bike anymore so im selling my DD DC4 and my DA will be my daily once again untill my bike is fixed. My questions are what are some good reasonably priced steering wheel qucik release setups that eveyone has used for our cars. I kno im going to get a short hub so im not chewing on my steering wheel. I would like to use a lock also so no1 can slip on another wheel and take off with my baby of 5 years. The car will only be left alone at home in the redneck woods that i live in ( i have the only 2 honda’s in the neighborhood) and at work no malls movie theaters or anything like that. i dont exactly wanna spend a crazy amount on a name brand steering wheel i just want something that will work with a qucik release lock for now . i will get a momo or sparco in the future. sorry this is so long just tryin to state excatly what im trying to do to help prevent a lil theft. the car already has alarm kill switches my .45 and a pitbull

maybe u should look into the nrg ones.

im not looking to spend like 300 bucks right now is what im saying. im getting the NRg short hub thats a given just wondering if anyone has used a semi cheapo steering wheel with a non nrg quickrelase with a NRG lock.

its been done. if u looked in the for sale forum, da9leo is selling the slim quick release with a hub, and its not all that much. but many have used cheap imitation knock off steering wheels… as long as the bolt pattern works for it, then its all good.

thanx

im useing one right now, for a matter of fact its not to bad LOL
my set up is pretty much like leos, i have a ebay hub and a nrg quick release
(the thin one) and a ebay steering wheel. if your just going to use it for
daily driving its perfect, but if your going to take it to the track, i dont recomend it. the steering wheel is weak as shit, i was messing around with my car one day
in a local parking lot, tried to take a corner and my steering wheel snaped off LMFAO!!!

i was scard shit less, but its all good  LOL im safe and my babys safe too.

I had a ebay hub once… After about a week. I noticed I was getting alot of play in the steering wheel. And every day it was getting worse. So i took the hub off and instantly noticed alot of aluminum shavings falling out… The steering wheel hub was stripping with regular use… Fortunately a friend had a extra ebay hub i slapped on… it lasted about 2 weeks before it began stripping.

Do not try to justify using a “BOSS” ebay hub, It’s made out of aluminum. and the part of the steering column is metal. so the teeth on the aluminum shred. If your power steering gives out. you’re fucked.

The ebay quick releases are not that bad. I don’t know about a hub lock working though.

A friend of mine has the NRG “Slim” quick release and its really loose to. I would suggest for a “budget” NRG short hub and NRG quick release… but thats about $200 alone… then a ebay steering wheel will work for awhile… My old steering wheels main problems were the stitching was beginning to fall apart and the metal in the wheel was really bendable…

I now have NRG short hub, NRG Gen2 quick release and a momo tuner wheel…

i noticed that too with my nrg slim q/r, what i did to fix it was backed the socket cap screws out a bit and that would basically make it tighter.

either that or you can use some felt strips to place it where the mounting surfaces touch to basically accomplish the same thing.
