Question about heater duct

Ok well i took out my a/c and now that i dont have the evap box, i wont be able to get heat some of the dash vents… I found this

http://www.heeltoeauto.com/Hon....html

Would this work, if not what did some of you guys do that removed your a/c do to make your heat work… Is there anything i can make

link doesnt work… are you referring to the EFs heater duct that they carry?

i saw that too but not sure if it would fit the DAs. I know for the DAs they’re discontinued. btw i think it may be cheaper through the dealership .

yea it might be cheaper but i need to figure out if they would fit… Cause if they do then i can have a warm car again

why not chenk you local scrap yard.

the DA did come without A/C, so there is a piece of ducting that fits in place of the condensor box.

I got mine for $5

the box is actually an evaporator box… condenser is in front of the radiator.

at least some one know the proper terminalogy:giggle:

edit: here is the piece im talking about

i guess thats a good idea

Let us know what you did, cause I want to remove that box too

I agree with BLKACK1. Get the piece on the left of the photo. You’ll probably want the firewall plug from a non-a/c teg as well.

at least if you want to keep that heat in the cab:D

yea i know but i havent found a non a/c teg in the junk yard and since they make it for the civics i thought it would fit

are you still going to order that one from heel-toe?

im probably going to get it but it might have to wait a week or 2. if you get it first just report back to us on the fitment.

all i did was open the box, take the evap out then close the box up. covered the 2 holes from the a/c lines and put it back in. easy and free

yea that is what i was going to do but my box broke on the way out

broke? lol. i forgot to mention that i used this tape to cover the holes. it looks like aluminum tape. i always use it when installing heater and a/c ducts in peoples houses. its kinda thick and moldable. maybe if your box is cracked it can hold it together. the adhesive doesnt get soft when heat goes through the ducts.

i removed the a/c shit inside that black box, jb welded the holes shut that were a/c related, everything works fine, The black box hardly weighs anything, used the existing rubber grommet through the firewall and ran a power cable for my relocated battery. nearly fills the entire hole, as for the grommets small hole, ran a few other wires for some other miscelleanous things. all in all, works pretty well.

i could be totally off from the subject…but thats what i did
