question about obdo b16a cat convertor.

i have a problem. because my car is lowered and i have done a b16a conversion i srcaped my car the other day and think that i have broken the sensor that is on my catalytic convertor. this sensor is normally up the top on da6 integra’s with the b16a but because i have a r34 skyline catalytic convertor for better flow and got the sensor welded on to it at a no-brained exhaust shop they have put it so that it is hanging down slightly lower than the exhaust. since i scraped it the dash light for the catalytic convertor is on but there doesn’t seem to be any difference in the way it drives.
does anyone know what this sensor is for and should i even bother fixing it?

i would take it back to that shop & tell them to fix it. i had a similar problem with a weld shop - i needed additional brackets to get my rs-r gt2 exhaust to fit on my ej1. the shop did a really nice job on the welds except for one where they let it actually sit on the bottom of the piping. my car was lowered when it went in and i made it clear to them that it needs to be as far up as possible for clearence (which obviously would have been a problem & is the reason i went in in the first place). well i didnt notice the weld until i came across an obsticle. i end up scraping of course & the welded rod that is almost wrapped across the bottom of my piping caught on the top of a ramp & tore about 2 inch gap in my piping. they fixed it w/ no questions asked.

im not sure about a cat light. if u do have a check engine light check which # it is throwing & go from there. 41 & 43 just off the top of my head i know may be o2 sensor. u are talking about the o2 sensor right?

no not an o2 sensor as normal but a heat sensor for the catylitic convertor. i think the warning light is meant to be if there is a problem with the cat. it is only on the da6 integra dash from japan.
