Question about reconditioning 1-pieces

I have had one-piece headlights for about 2 years now and I reconditioned my left one once because it was turning yellow. Me being the idiot I am thought that one of the final directions was to put a clearcoat back on the headlight. Well it certainly protected it but it’s not exactly see through anymore. Well it’s been like a year since that and I have my car in the garage for the winter and for the first time I am gonna get to work on them again. But I have some new questions…

(1) I have a leak in both lights. I wanna pull them apart and RE-seal them. How do I do this? I was told to put them in a boiling pan for a few minutes to break the seal…will that be safe or even work? Plus what do I get to reseal them that won’t leak?

(2) I read the other thread about the harnesses and mine have too short of wires to mess with again…that includes even taking them off without them falling apart at the moment. I also heard about one of the civics having the same size blub harness. Is that right? If so which year and model? I still want to use H4h bulbs NOT H4.

Thanks for any help anyone can give me…

Check the teg-tip section under lighting. There is a Removal of Glare guards from headlights article which should give you some insight.

Hey N Ful FX -> As soon as I can get into G2IC from home, I’ll redo that Glare guard removal teg tip. Sorry I haven’t e-mailed you back on that.
